Chapter 11

Armed with the luxury car he had chosen from the VVIP basement, Julius drove out of his luxurious penthouse. The car sped through the crowded streets on a busy morning. It seemed to shine among the other vehicles that filled the streets.

It didn't take long before Julius arrived at his destination. A simple eatery is on the side of the road with some small trees. And Julius immediately parked his car quite far away. The man entered and looked around. His eyes found a man sitting at the end, who stood up and waved.

"Uncle Thony?" greeted Julius kindly. The man sat down in front of the older man he called Thony. They exchanged high-fives, and Uncle Thony immediately offered Julius a drink. The man looked so happy because he had not seen the son of his best friend for so long.

"Oh my, Julius! How long has it been since we've seen each other?" The slightly chubby man smiled again, revealing the wrinkles on his cheekbones. Some of his hair was already graying, with a thin beard and dull eyes. In fact, his eyes, which once looked clear, were now framed by glasses, indicating that his vision was starting to diminish.

Julius returned the smile of the kind-hearted man he knew when he still lived in his old house with his father. For Julius, Uncle Thony was more than just an acquaintance. And to be honest, Julius was so curious to know how the man was doing, that he immediately asked, "Yes, Uncle. It's been a long time since we met. Are you well?"

Uncle Thony nodded, "I'm fine. Wait a moment, I'll order some food for you." The man spoke with enthusiasm. Without waiting for Julius' approval, he immediately called the waiter and ordered food.

The middle-aged man, who had been smiling cheerfully, suddenly looked sad. His eyes looked at Julius intently and sighed, "Julius, you look thinner and thinner. Are you eating well? Are you having a bad day?"

Julius shook his head, "No, Uncle. I'm fine. Even more than that, I'm very, very good right now."

Julius spread his arms with a smile, showing his now cleaner and more well-groomed appearance. He had changed and was no longer the hobo Julius he used to be.

But unfortunately, Uncle Thony didn't believe him at all. Although Julius' appearance was no longer as shabby as before, he still looked much thinner than the last time they met.

The man still thought Julius was in trouble and lying to him. Julius had never told the truth and always said that he was fine.

Thony knew that Julius was often maltreated. He often worked overtime until dawn. Even his fiancée, Bella, also treated him very severely and inhumanely. Thony had seen it with his own eyes!

"Julius, don't hide anything from uncle. Don't try to lie, just tell me what you've experienced." Thony took a deep breath. The man looked at Julius with sadness on his face.

"Uncle was your father's friend when he was alive. To him, you're like his own son. So, don't hide anything, because uncle will definitely listen to you." Thony said it sincerely. Yes, Uncle Thony was like Julius's father, and he loved him very much.

Julius nodded, "I know, Uncle. But I'm wonderful now. You don't have to worry." Julius tried to reassure his uncle with a big smile, but Thony apparently didn't believe him.

It was evident from Thony's face, which now looked sad. The man felt that he couldn't help Julius in any way. He could only accompany Julius and listen to him talk. Because Thony was just an ordinary man with a simple job.

"Yes, I hope you stay well, Julius. A smart and very polite boy like you will surely find happiness later. Things will get better, and you'll get out of all your troubles." With that, the food Thony had ordered for Julius arrived.

So, he pushed the food towards Julius, "Well, eat up. This is your favorite spaghetti. The flavor never changes and it's the same as when you came here with your father." And Julius smiled, the man smiled and said thank you before eating the food Thony had ordered.

After finishing their meal and chatting, Thony suddenly gave Julius an old paper bag when they were about to part. Which, of course, made Julius feel confused. It was unusual for Thony to give him a gift, since it wasn't even his birthday.

Thony tightly gripped the paper bag's strap to Julius, "Take this, Julius, take good care of yourself," he said and held Julius, who seemed to want to refuse and ask about what he gave.

Thony shook his head, forcing Julius to accept, "This will help you later, Uncle doesn't want you to get sick." With that, Thony left Julius. In fact, he didn't even look back as he walked away.

Julius, who was surprised, could only accept it and carry the paper bag into the car. Sighing heavily, Julius closed the car door and fastened his seat belt. Feeling curious, he opened the paper bag Thony had given him. And all of a sudden, Julius glared in surprise.

Unexpectedly, it turned out that what Thony gave him was money. Julius immediately grabbed and confirmed it by looking at each of the bills. Until he was sure that he was not hallucinating, Julius immediately counted it on the spot. And even more surprised, he discovered that the money amounted to 2500 dollars! This was very confusing because Julius knew that Thony was not wealthy.

Julius quickly unbuckled his seat belt and exited the car without thinking much. He looked in the direction Uncle Thony had gone. Julius immediately ran and hoped that he could still find the man. So many times, Julius almost bumped into people passing by the sidewalk and had to apologize.

And luckily, Julius managed to find him! Julius breathed a sigh of relief. The middle-aged man hadn't walked too far. So, Julius immediately called out to him in a loud voice. But Thony didn't seem to hear his voice at all because of the noise of the passers-by.

So, Julius called him a second time. And damn it, Uncle Thony still hadn't heard him either. Something terrible happened when Julius finally decided to run and catch up with the man.

Julius' eyes bulged! It was so bad that someone was walking fast from his uncle's opposite direction and bumping into Thony's body until the man fell to the sidewalk violently.

"Uncle Thony!"
