Chapter 12

Julius ran over and caught Thony's body on the sidewalk. Concerned, Julius asked, "Is Uncle okay?" Especially when he saw the bruise on Thony's hand, caused by rubbing against the rough surface of the sidewalk.

Thony, of course, didn't answer, he just stayed silent with a pale face and a cold body. He didn't even seem to hear what Julius was asking him. The man looked dazed, even his shoulders shook unconsciously.

"Uncle?"

Julius waved a hand before Thony, and shook his shoulders for a while. Thony blinked, and was surprised by Julius' presence. The man even backed away while dragging himself away. His face looked panicked and even paler.

Thony's eyes widened, "Julius, why are you here? What are you doing? Go away!" Thony pleaded in a frightened tone. The man looked so worried that his eyebrows knitted together. His eyes glanced around, the panic on his face unconcealable.

Thony didn't want Julius here, so he pushed Julius' chest aside, "Get out of here, Julius. You can't be here." Yes, Thony didn't want Julius involved in his problems.

Julius winced, "I'm helping Uncle. Get up, let me help you up." Julius' hand was about to reach Thony's shoulder, but the man resisted and shoved Julius' hand away.

Thony shook his head several times, pointing in the other direction for Julius to leave him.

"Julius, get out of here right now. I don't want you to get involved in anything," Thony said pleadingly. He really didn't want Julius to get caught up in his problems. Although to be honest, Thony was in trouble at the moment.

Julius frowned, especially when Thony kept pushing him away. It didn't matter if his strength wasn't enough to make Julius away.

Julius shook his head, "No, I'll help Uncle get up. Don't sit on the sidewalk like this."

The more Thony resisted, the more Julius tried to help. Thony was a good uncle, the only one who always supported and cared for Julius when he was in trouble. So Julius wouldn't leave him alone like this.

Julius also remembered that Thony was the first person to come when Julius' father was sick. Julius was very young then, so it was difficult for him to take his father for treatment. And Thony was the only one who helped Julius overcome it.

"Julius, uncle please! Go, because this is your business," Thony pleaded earnestly. The man clutched his aching head, wincing at the horrendous shivering.

"Anyway, you need to get out of here. I can handle it." Thony closed his eyes, holding his agonizing head. And that only made Julius even more unwilling to leave him. It would be hazardous if Julius complied with Thony's wishes. The man could get hurt even worse by being surrounded by bad people.

"Get out of the way, damn it!" Suddenly, the person who hit Thony pulled Julius backward until the man fell to the sidewalk. He even violently kicked Thony away from Julius. Julius was shocked and immediately stood up while glaring at the people there.

"Stop that. You guys are so insolent," Julius said coldly. He seemed undaunted as everyone stared back at him intimidatingly. Even if we counted them, there were more than five of them. It was no match for Julius, who stood alone in front of Thony.

One of the long-haired ones snorted, looked Julius up and down repeatedly and then asked, "You stay out of this! Strangers like you should just leave."

Julius immediately directed his gaze at the man talking, "I'm not a stranger, I know this man you're pushing."

Ed, the group's suspected leader, was now confronting Thony. The man smiled dismissively, "What do you have to do with this Thony? I've never seen you before." See

Julius glared and reflexively pulled the perpetrator away when Ed spoke while kicking Thony with his left foot and Thony did not react at all. The man just gave up. Immediately, he stood between Ed and Thony, protecting his uncle, who was still kneeling on the sidewalk limply.

"I'm his acquaintance. And stop your insolent behavior, it shouldn't be done," Julius rebuked coldly. In Julius' eyes, these people before him must be younger than Thony. They should be more polite when talking to their elders.

Ed smiled wryly, "Get out of the way! This old man has a lot of debts and can't pay! Who are you to interfere?" snapped Ed who suddenly used a high tone. The man clearly didn't like Julius's presence, which he felt interfered with his work.

Julius was unfazed, he just sighed and helped Thony to his feet. Pulling the man to stand behind him so that nothing untoward would happen. It was not impossible that these people would torture or even beat Thony if Julius did not prevent it.

"I'm Thony's acquaintance, didn't you hear?" said Julius as he folded his arms across his chest.

Ed glared, "Damn it! Are you calling me deaf?" he snapped angrily while gyrating his waist. His eyes bulged, his teeth chattered.

The man wearing a tight T-shirt with a snake tattooed on his arm stepped forward, pointing a finger at Julius' face, "You should know better, damn it! If you're really Thony's acquaintance, why don't you just pay all his debts? Not call me deaf!"

Julius winced in annoyance, the man lowered his head and slapped Ed's finger away with one hand. His face looked both displeased and disgusted.

"You can talk nicely, damn it." Julius winced, and squeezed Ed's finger that pointed back at him. He didn't care if the man shouted and swore.

"You must not be an acquaintance of his! Because you don't even know if your Uncle Thony is in debt!" Ed teased with a neck that moved like an octopus to make his people laugh.

Julius, of course, was surprised and looked back with a questioning look. But Thony looked away without saying a word. What Julius could understand, if Thony did have a debt to these people.

But, Thony had just given him money. So, what did Thony owe cash for? This doesn't make sense. Julius had to know why.

"Get out of my way, you have no money and you're just making my job harder!" Ed shoved Julius away again. This time, he pushed him roughly away.

"You're the one who should step aside, damn it," Julius retorted coldly. The man looked at Ed and stepped forward. He ignored the anger the man was spewing. It created an unpleasant atmosphere between the two, who exchanged hateful glances.

Suddenly, Thony, standing behind Julius, pulled him to turn around.

He looked at Julius pleadingly, "Julius, get out of here. Don't involve yourself in your uncle's problems."

Ignoring Thony's question, Julius asked something else that had been bothering him, "What do you owe me? You just gave me money."

"Oh, he gave you money? Wow, Thony can give you money and still owe me money!" Ed burst out laughing, followed by his followers. Those who stood on the sidewalk were a sight for the pedestrians, who looked very annoyed and tried to move out of the way.

Thony grabbed Julius, "Julius, get out of here! I can solve this problem myself. And this has nothing to do with the money you received."

Julius, of course, didn't believe Thony's hand from his shoulder. He spoke confidently, "I don't need your money, Uncle. Just keep it for yourself and take care of yourself."
