The Heir's Redemption (From Disgrace to Dominance)

As the sun set and the sky darkened, the celebrations at that very moment were beyond forgery. As there were glows of light at the Nike family house in the city of Lanchester.

It was a night when the Nike company's tenth anniversary was celebrated, and of course, guests were present.

All the invited guests presented gifts to the head of the Nike Company and said, “Happy tenth anniversary Senior Nike, we hope the company continues to grow at an accelerated pace.”

How delightful Senior Nike was as he stood up from his chair majestically. He replied, “Thank you so much for the gifts, but I'll thank every member of the Nike family more for the support they all have given to the company. And because I'm happy today, I'll grant any wish they make! Just say any wish.”

“Grandpa, I want an iPhone 15 pro max…”

“Grandpa, I want a new model BMW car…”

“Grandpa, I want an apple laptop…”

“...”

“Alright then, your wishes are my command, I'll fulfill them all!” Senior Nike gave them his word in an instant.

To the members who asked and wished, it was a joy for them. They all expressed their gratitude in different ways.

Senior Nike also shared the same joy with those who appreciated him. He felt so happy as he gave a dazzling smile.

Then at that moment, a son-in-law from the Nike family, Sebatian Prime, stepped forward as he was willing to also make a wish too. He said, “Grandpa, can you please buy me a wheelbarrow? I need it to convey products from the family garden…”

In a flash, the smile on each member of the Nike family's faces varnished, and disbelief set in as everyone looked at Sebastian with an interest.

What in the world was the son-in-law thinking of making a wish? Such courage, such poised!

Everyone who asked for something, asked for something expensive, and he asked for a wheelbarrow? How could he, or does he just want to humiliate Senior Nike? He didn't even give a gift, but he asked for something!

It was just five years ago when Grandma Nike met and adopted Sebastian from the street into the Nike family. She cared and helped him even though he was poor. She saw how nice Sebastian had been, and made her granddaughter, Juliana, get married to him.

Well she did, and Sebastian was fully accepted as a son-in-law into the Nike Family. He was actually, until the death of Grandma Nike.

Sebastian became an object of humiliation and mockery as the whole family of Nike saw Sebastian as a useless son-in-law, and a good for nothing. He was converted to a slave by all his in-laws in the Nike Family, as he was always doing the chores in the house, even washing the toilets and cooking. Sebastian was actually worse than a slave in his in-laws' home, and almost invisible to them.

Now he's the center of attention for asking for a wheelbarrow.

The wheelbarrow that he used for the garden to pack it produces was stolen by someone when he took it to the garden, he couldn't afford to buy one as he was poor.

Sebastian's request automatically changed the mood of Senior Nike, as he became so furious.

His furious mood was evident when he smashed the phone he was holding on the floor. He then raised his voice angrily at Sebatian, “How dare you, you f*ol?! How dare you disrespect me and this family?”

Without hesitation, Sebastian's wife rushed in to calm Senior Nike, “Grandpa, please just ignore Sebastian. I'm sure he wasn't thinking straight”. Then she dragged Sebastian aside.

The members of the Nike family were stirring things up as Cindy, Juliana's cousin, took it up from there. “Such a useless person! In a sumptuous occasion like this, he couldn't just hold his pathetic self. How dare you ask for a wheelbarrow you poor thing, who cares about your wish?”

“You're right Juliana, your poor looking husband can't even think straight. With the whole guest available here, he had the nerve to humiliate us, asking for a wheelbarrow!” Juliana's sister, Jade, was raging.

“I feel so embarrassed myself, like who the heck is this beggar?”

“He's not just poor, he's mannerless also!”

“Someone should take him out of here before he does something worse.”

The insults and condemnation from the Nikes were already too much, and every word said was absolutely against Sebastian. He bowed down his head as he felt extremely humiliated.

“Get out this —”

“Grandpa, it's the manager from Prime Enterprises, he honored your invitation, and he's here!” Someone ran in, and interrupted.

Immediately after, a tall and handsome looking man strolled into the hall with a charming smile.

Prime Enterprise was a family business that belonged to the Primes, one of the most influential family in the city.

Moreover, Brian was one of the managers working for Prime Enterprise. He was from a sound family background, which made him get the position of a manager in one of the most influential company in the city of Lanchester. Brian was every family wish, but it was just a wish that never came true.

“Here is a gift for the company Senior Nike.” with a big smile, Brian said.

When Senior Nike opened the gift, his varnished smile was restored, a lot of guests who saw the gift were amazed.

Inside the gift was a cheque of one million dollars. What a gift it was! That's the same amount used to propose to a lady in the city of Lanchester.

“Senior Nike, I came here today to celebrate the family company, and also make a marriage proposal to your granddaughter, Juliana. I really admire her, and I hope she accepts to marry me!”

This got everyone on the occasion so surprised. They couldn't believe it.

Such an atom of disrespect to the husband of Juliana, Sebastian. She was Sebatian's wife and Brian did not care.

Well after all, Sebatian was just a worthless and useless son-in-law who was adopted. Brian didn't ever care that Sebatian would be offended, who was he to even get offended?

“Juliana can't remain with a loser and a poor man. I can do even better and make her the happiest. I hope you consider my offer Senior Nike.” Brian smiled and said, winking at Juliana, and left.

Immediately Brian left, people started murmuring and discussing.

“What an opportunity for Juliana, an opportunity to leave this beggar she calls a husband.”

“Brian is a top man, and he's wealthy. A manager from Prime company is what every family will wish to have.”

“He will be a blessing to this family.’’

Suddenly, Senior Nike gave Sebastian a meaningful look, and made a proposal, “Look here Sebatian, if you're willing to divorce Juliana, I'll give you five hundred thousand dollars.”

How dejected Sebastian felt, this was just too much for him. Sebastian didn't even think about it as he looked at Senior Nike and said, “Grandpa, I'd rather die than divorce my wife, Juliana.”

Senior Nike grew so angry that he pointed at Sebastian and scolded him, “You this poor thing, how dare you refuse such an offer, are you nuts!? Get out of my sight you beggar!”

With a disappointing look, Sebastian shook sideways, and left the occasion. Juliana was unable to stop him from leaving.

Luis, Juliana's mother, laughed as Sebastian was leaving, “oh, what a useless son-in-law, he walks out like he has money. Hey loser, Please close the door behind you.”

“Run beggar…”

Sebastian was a face of mockery to everyone, but he remained speechless, as he left Nike family house.

On his way, his phone suddenly rang.

He took a glance at it, and opening the message, he saw…

“Mr Sebatian, $BLOCK, has made you a hundred percent increase of your investment in the current cryptocurrency market.”
