Leonid frowned at his mother. "You can't divorce dad. I know he hurts us a lot, but you can't divorce him. It is not his fault that this all happened in the first place."

Amelia frowned back at him. "I can divorce him, and I have to."

Viktor's and Amelia's eyes were practically popping out of their sockets. The rest of the men who were eating paused to stare.

"Mom, why? You can't do that. He came back for you and Leonid." Amelia said.

"And he loves you both." Viktor added.

Lilith was not hearing any of it. She shook her head. "He left us 20 years ago; we are better off without him."

"I want him to be here with us." Leonid said. "Aren't you happy that he came back after all these years?"

"I am not." Lilith grumbled. "He can't just walk back into our lives like nothing ever happened."

"He put you through stress, made you the target of bullies, and made you skip college."
