CHAPTER 57

Leonid crossed his legs on the chair as he glanced at his ex-boss, Mr. Thomas. He was slowly drumming with his fingers; the clock was slowly ticking, and none of them was saying a word to each other.

"I don't know what you are doing here, Leonid." Mr. Thomas finally said

Leonid bit his lower lip into his mouth, and his drumming on the table stopped. He retrieved his hands and clasped them, displaying his golden rings to Mr. Thomas.

"Well, I came here to get your employee." Leonid replied.

"You're not my employee." Mr. Thomas said

"Exactly."

"Why haven't you been showing up at work?"

"It has nothing to do with you."

"Do you know that I was going to get you fired?"

Leonid placed his hand on the table and peered at Mr. Thomas like he was going to see through his soul.

"You can just say the word, Thomas."

Thomas slammed his hand on the table. "Thomas? When do you call me Thomas? I wanted to give you back the job."

Leonid raised his brows. "Do I look like I need the job?"
