Hearing what the secretary had said, Hogan smirked, his face a mask of mockery. Chris ignored him and thanked the secretary, saying he would join the meeting shortly. Hogan winked at Chris, he looked pretty happy that Jupiter had returned and convened everyone, an announcement was going to be made, in a short while, he knew that Chris would be out of the picture because there was no way he could restore the company, not so soon. "The Jupiter wants to meet with everyone, and guess what? She's not a very patient woman, I don't think you have much time to help the company, maybe a few weeks tops, and then you'll be gone for good," he said, grinning as he walked out of the office. Christian hissed, it was clear that everyone at the table had an idea of how vile Sonya was, everyone thought he was going to return and be a lamb heading straight to the abattoir. Squaring his shoulders, Chris exhaled and headed out of the office. If Jupiter wanted a meeting, he was going to give her one.

Chris sat up straight and so did Pete and they leaned away from each other, looking at the domineering women who had just entered the room. Everyone else was silent, some who hadn't heard the verdict on the first day were dying to hear it, to be sure that it wasn't idle talk. "Is Chris Robinson back as the heir of the family?" One man to his left whispered but Chris could hear him. "Shhh, the Jupiter wants to address us," the man on the next seat berated him and he kept mute, mumbling his apology. "Gentlemen, welcome to the board meeting, but as we all already know, the formalities aren't necessary," she said and turned to Pete. Pete had to refrain from glaring at her, instead, he kept a blank expression and told her that he had to open the meeting formally, "We have to perform the rites of the meeting, we need__" he began but she rudely cut him in and said that they had to start right away. "Sit down, Pete, I'm sure you've grown quite weary of that shenanigans after many years

Christian remained composed, after all, Potter and Pete had warned him of the terms of his return. There was no point being sullen about it, he simply had to make the best of the situation and he had something in mind. "One would think that this is a trap, why would you offer me my position back and still threaten to take me out of the family all in one deal?" He asked, smiling sarcastically, he had a cocky look on his face that surprised the remaining executive on the table..."Oh please, don't flatter yourself, Christian Robinson, why would I waste my precious time trying to trick you or in your own words trap you?" The Jupiter asked, smiling at him like a hyena would smile at its prey. "This is just a minor condition to motivate you to work harder, after all, it would be useless if you returned to the family and could not even help us in this little way," she said. Christian laughed, it was clear that she did not know he had found out about her manipulations with the record, she

"Excommunicated?!" Pete asked, "That is ridiculous, Christian, you have no idea what you are talking about," he said. But Christian stood his ground and said that he knew exactly what it meant to be excommunicated from the family. "I think I have been here for long enough to know what it means to be excommunicated," he replied to his grandfather. "Don't be unreasonable, boy, you have taken this too far, simply seal the deal and get back your place as the CEO, stop playing with fire," he warned him openly. Sonya basked in the knowledge that even the messenger knew her raw power and influence, she was glad that Christian had made the offer, which was an opportunity to get rid of him entirely. "You have no right to ask me to step down, I have been the Jupiter since the founding of this company, you are just a little boy who took over his father's seat!" She snapped at him. "And yet I have done so much for this family, much more than the rest of you can boast of," Christian snapped.

Christian Robinson arrived home that day after spending hours riding around town. He badly wanted to find the Otec company and prove the Jupiter wrong. But it turned out that it wasn't going to be a joy ride, he had a lot more work to do, Otec was an undercover firm, it was not going to be easy to find. The dining table was empty save for a small cup of coffee and a bottle of bourbon, Christian needed something strong for the evening - it was going to be a long one. "She knew what she was going all this while, she knew Otec was not easy to find," he said to his old butler who sat across him, his hands nursing a cup of coffee mixed with a little bourbon. "You haven't touched your drink," he noticed and the old man smiled. "I still have to drive back home, remember?" He asked and Christian nodded, "I don't think a strong coffee would hurt you, though" he whispered but waved it away and handed him a glass of water instead. "About Otec, you're right, the Jupiter can't possibly send y

The old butler and Christian spent the rest of the night going through the records until Christian found the connection between the three companies that they'd lost deals with over the last half of the year. It was the subsidiary of Otec and two others. Still, he was expected to secure a deal with the mother company. But the records also uncovered that two other companies were allies of Otec and going through them would be an option. But first, no matter how pessimistic he felt, Chris knew he had to give it a shot. The next morning, the duo arrived at Otec. It was a dome-shaped building made entirely of glass. From outside, all they saw was a distorted reflection of their surroundings, inside was no doubt a better view. "There's a reason Jupiter gave this to you, something tells me that she tried the contract herself and was turned down," Potter said as he looked at the intimidating structure. Chris smiled, "I don't think so, Jupiter doesn't handle deals, don't forget that until

Berlin was going to be an even harder place to find. Christian Robinson made several calls that led him to believe the Berlin company was a virtual tech company with no physical building whatsoever. But Christian was much more persistent, he knew that before such a big firm could stay alive and have partners, they needed a physical outlet. No one trusted the clouds with their money, at least not businessmen. As he was stepping out of Otec, he could see Potter reverse the car and pull up right beside him, Christian got in and waited for the location to Berlin but it wasn't forthcoming. "Where do we go next, sir?" Potter asked, looking at him worriedly through the rearview mirror. The old butler could tell without having to ask that his master's little trip to Otec wasn't successful. Christian replied with a sigh, "I'm still waiting on intel," he said. Potter nodded and both men remained in the car in companionable silence, until Christian's phone rang. He picked it up quickly think

Evans looked at Christian like he had grown a second head, "You allowed that old woman to corner you into this?" He asked in disbelief, "Come on, Christian, I could have sworn you would be wise enough to refuse her," Evans said, frowning deeply. "I didn't have a choice, it was either take that offer or never return to my seat on the executive board," Christian replied. Evans huffed, "And to make it worse you went ahead and challenged her," he sighed, "How could you be so careless? You have barely gotten back into the family, you have no idea the hell that place has passed through for the past few months while you were gone, did you think it was that easy of a feat and Hogan who has always been excited about taking your place could not handle it just to have you out of the way?" He asked, even Evans knew how hard it was going to be to secure a deal with Otec. "Hogan is no match for me, his abilities are restricted to scheming and plotting bullshit, he would never be able to secure a

Sonya couldn't believe her eyes, she gasped and that was how she fell into the orbit who was right behind her. One of them caught her swiftly and everyone quickly called for the company doctor. Chris remained calm. She was just in shock and would no doubt be revived with a little air and water. He could only imagine what it felt like to be thrown down after such years in power. "Where have you been, son?" Pa Pete asked and Julius only smiled. He was a spitting image of his twin, Evans Robinson and he didn't look like the years had treated him badly at all. Some of the men on the table who knew that their hands were stained and they'd been working with Sonya to condemn Christian, all looked down in shame because they could face him or Julius. "Now that you're back, what will be the fate of the executive board?" One of them mustered the courage to ask. But that wasn't really what he meant and everyone could tell. He was trying to find out what Julius would do to them that had gotten

Evans was a little shaky as the man took them to the inner recess of the tunnel and it became dark. Christian could still remember the way to Orton and he certainly could tell that it wasn't the same route they were being taken. "What's going on? Aren't we meeting with Orton anymore?" He asked and the man simply looked at them without saying anything. Christian swallowed nervously but quietly followed him until they got to a part of the tunnel where the light became brighter and they could see a glass room in the distance. Right through the glass sat an old man at a desk, Orton. "While I still breathe," Evans said as he entered the glass cave. "I never thought I'd see you after so many years, I could swear you vowed never to see the Robinson family again." Orton looked at them quietly and then offered them both the double-seated couch, asking if they needed a strong Irish coffee. "We'll be needing more than a cup of coffee from you," Evans replied with a serious face. He pulled ou

Evans had a plan and that plan was foolproof - or so they both believed. Right there in the living room, Christian showed the token to Evans and after he stared at it in awe, he said it would take them right to Berlin. They arrived at the small town the next day. Evans was in the front seat and Christian was in the driver's seat. His face was twisted in an ugly frown. "I told you to let Potter drive us, he's more mature on the wheel, we almost had an accident on the way here, I hate to think what will happen as we return," Evans said as he stepped out of the vehicle. "I hate this place, I could almost swear nothing would ever bring me back here," he spat angrily. Evans laughed at him, "Never say never, my son, life can be a rollercoaster sometimes," he said. Christian wiped at his head, a bead of perspiration had formed from the warm air. He pulled off his sunglasses and stared at the small pub that still stood in the distance. Karen was still in business and that only meant one t

It was four days after the legendary meeting at the Robinson lobby. Christian hadn't shown up at the company for that long. It made Jupiter happy that one thing she'd hoped for had worked out - Christian was too embarrassed to come back out. That fateful afternoon, Christian was at the Robinson estate after such a long time. If there was ever going to be a time he needed Evans' help, it was then. Arriving at the door, it was Melissa who welcomed him in and he nodded at her mutely and crossed the threshold. "It's been a long time since I last saw you, Christian," Melissa said as she ushered him in. Christian didn't say anything still. He didn't want to talk to her, he was in too sore a mood too. "I know what...how it went last time was not ideal. I know you trusted me with...well, I disappointed you and tried to cause a rift between you and Evans, I'm sorry," she said. Christian again simply nodded. Melissa sighed, she looked remorseful. She was dressed in a sheer green gown and shaw

Sonya did not look so confident anymore, her weak bones trembled and she quickly grabbed onto the desk for support. Christian still wore a smirk on his face as his grandfather, Pa Pete looked warily at the document on the desk."You got the deal?" He asked, his tone disbelieving. Christian did not reply, at least not verbally, he remained standing with a smile on his face. "This is ridiculous!" Sonya yelled, "There is no way this boy could secure a deal with Otec, there is also no way in hell that he knows Orton Berlin," she snapped. Christian dipped his hands into his breast pocket and retrieved the token that Orton had given to him, he did not bother handing it to her but simply slammed it on the table. With shaky wrinkled hands, Sonya picked up the token, she turned pale, her eyes wide in shock. "But how! I have been dying to meet this man all my life, how could you get the Supreme token?" Sonya asked, still in disbelief. "You are not the only one that can weasel your way into p

Sonya took the flowers and had half the mind to toss it in his face but she had to reign in her temper. She instead snatched it up aggressively and tossed it at one of the Orbits who held it like it burned. "What do you have to say concerning the challenge you called, Christian? Are you having a change of heart?" She asked and immediately one of the board members said loudly, "He can't do that! The entire board knows about it and we won't allow such cowardice!" The man snapped. "Who said anything about backing out?" Christian asked and the man began to stammer foolishly before sitting down. Jupiter was pleased with the way they all treated Chris, everyone was attacking him. "Will we all let him speak?" Pete snapped, his voice rising above the others. Christian rose and nodded at the roses he'd just gifted Sonya, "I picked those out myself, it's a shame you won't even appreciate it," he said and Sonya rolled her eyes, "I didn't recall asking you for any flowers, Chris, last I checke

Pa Pete was hesitant to begin the proceedings of the meeting and everyone on the table noticed, especially Chris who was just right beside him.Sonya must have noticed too because she smiled and said mockingly, "Are your feet getting heavier for you, Pa Pete? Perhaps it's not just your grandson that needs replacing, you too might be getting a little too old for that seat." Pete ignored her and looked at Christian who calmly nodded at him, a silent approval to commence the meeting. There was no need to wait, it wouldn't change the outcome of the meeting anyway. The orbits were right behind Jupiter, all six of them stood like rods, stuff, unyielding, with their hands crossed. Pete looked at them scornfully and then cleared his throat a little too loud. "Is there something you have to say? We don't have all day, Pete." Sonya said, her lips still bearing the same smile she'd exited the vehicle with that morning. "I think we all know what I'm about to say," Pete said, looking at member

Hope is a formidable force, even a single ray can light up the darkest abyss. Christian Robinson could attest to this as he woke up that morning, feeling a lot better than he'd slept. He had a feeling that the world was aligning right where it ought to be and he was at the helm of it all - where he'd always wanted. "Sir, your suit just arrived," his servant bowed as he entered the room. Christian hadn't heard him knock but he was sure he had, he'd no doubt been too lost in thought to hear. "Thank you, I'll be right out." He replied and the man nodded as he left. He looked again at the mirror and smirked, his crisp white shirt was tucked beautifully into his black trousers, and his shoe just a little shiny. He'd called back his servants the previous evening just as he'd gotten that token from Berlin. He had a feeling his life was about to change for good, he had a gut feeling. Christian left the room and took the suit from the servant as he got to his car - he'd decided he was dri

The exit of the tunnel led to a small boutique that was on the outskirts of town, close to where the train station was. As he climbed up to the stairwell and pushed the door open, he noticed that no one seemed interested in him even though they'd seen him crawl out of the ground. The receptionist at the desk simply looked at him blankly as he walked out the door and Christian figured that the establishment belonged to Orton, a way of making the tunnel he'd made. It was a brilliant idea, there was no way someone could guess that there was an entire world down there, an entire company. Chris could not get to his car that morning, he'd barely been able to get home in time for a change of outfit before he headed down to Otec - again. This was his second time parked outside the gigantic building and he didn't fail to marvel at the beauty of it all. He sighed as he pulled out the proposal from his dashboard and clutched the token that Orton had given him firmly in his grip. Coming down
