Rubbing his chin, Chase shook his head before saying, “Nothing.”

“Nothing? And you expect me to believe you?” Wembley asked, his gestures showing disbelief.

“It's up to you to believe me or not.” He replied as he grabbed his briefcase. Just as he was about to leave, he pressed his weight back to his seat and with his gaze fixed on Wembley, he asked, “Do you have any idea on how I can fix a data breach?”

“Yes, why?”

“I have a week to rectify the issue in the tech firm. I don't want you to do it yourself, teach me instead because I'm definitely going to prove my worth before my in-laws.”

“I see… first it was a HR office, then accounting, sales and now tech? You must have learnt a lot of things within three years, thanks to grandpa Bernard.” Wembley said with a mocking tone.

“Are you going to help me or not? I don't want to lose my job.”

“Fine. Just get ready to come with me by the time you are done proving your worth.”

“I will find another person.” He scoffed and with that, he grabbed his briefcase. He was already walking towards the exit when Wembley grabbed his hand, saying, “When should I come see you?”

“I will be in the cafe down the company road tomorrow, meet me there.” He said and then pushed his hand off.

From the five star restaurant to his home took about half an hour drive and by the time he got in that day, it was already eight pm.

Drained, he groped his way towards the house, just as he wanted to turn the knob, his eyes caught a strange car in the garage.

“Who's home? Katherine left this morning.” He muttered, running his eyes over the black sedan.

Still wondering who owned the car, he pushed the door in and then stepped into the living room.

Apart from the warmth which ushered him in, a heartfelt laughter which belonged to Raven and a male caught his attention.

Scrunching his brow, he quickly hurried in only to see Raven lying on Daniel's thigh. They were busy chatting and laughing like two teenagers in love.

Though annoyed, he swallowed it and then made his way towards them.

“Hey, I never knew you would drop by and say hello.” He was speaking to Daniel now.

“Now I did, do you have an issue with that?” Daniel asked with a mocking tone as he stroked Raven's hair.

“Not at all, do have a good time.” He said and then did a curt bow. He was about to leave when Raven pulled herself up and with her hands resting on her hips, she asked, “And where are you coming from? The last time I checked the company closed by five pm, you are seeing another woman, right?”

“No Raven, I wouldn't try that. It's just that, I had an extra workload to finish before tomorrow and after that, I had to meet with a friend.” He explained.

“Can you hear yourself speak?” She yelled, raising her hand above her head to slap him.

“Honey, just leave him. He isn't worth your time.” Daniel said as he wrapped his hand around her waist. Kissing her neck, he began to mutter soothing words to her.

“Get out of my sight you worthless being.” She yelled at him.

“I'm sorry.” He apologized once again and then began to head towards the stairs.

“Now that he is back, let's eat out.” Daniel suggested.

“Not when Chase is here. He will cook us a meal.” Raven replied. On hearing this, Chase tried to hasten his steps but he wasn't quick enough.

“Get us a nice dinner.” She called out to him.

“Alright then, I will be back in ten minutes.”

“The food should be ready in half an hour else, you will have yourself to blame.” She scoffed.

Left with no choice, Chase found his way down the stairs and with his work clothes still on, he made his way to the kitchen to prepare dinner for Raven and Daniel.

In order to avoid facing more embarrassment in front of Daniel, Chase was extra careful in his cooking.

When he was done, he set the food on the dining table and then invited them for dinner.

Just like Katherine has instructed him to do at all times, he stood by the side to serve them in case they needed anything.

“The meal looks appetizing.” Daniel said, running his hands in glee as his throat made an up and down movement in quick succession like a piston.

“I hope it's appetizing as it looks.” Raven said as she took her seat.

Daniel was the first to take a spoonful of the meal and immediately it touched his taste buds, he winced, filling his spoon for the second time.

“How do you manage to eat that?” Raven asked, her face scrunched in disgust.

“What?” Daniel asked with a look of confusion on his face. He was apparently enjoying the meal.

“It's insipid, I don't even know what it's lacking.” She scowled, pushing her plate away.

Although he knew she was acting up, Chase leaned towards her and with a tiny voice said, “I'm sorry, I will go make a quick meal for you.”

He was about to take away her plate when she slapped his hand off and with a scowl on her face said, “You want me to wait for another extra hour, I will manage the food but mind you, if I get constipated, you will have yourself to blame.”

“Okay.” he muttered, stepping aside.

When they had finished eating, he served them their desert and then proceeded to wash the dishes they had used.

Done with this, he returned to the living room, requesting to retire to his room but Raven wouldn't let him.

Right in front of him, she was making out with Daniel who was apparently enjoying the whole thing.

Pained, he tried to take his eyes off them but the very next minute, his cheeks began to ache as a result of Raven's hit.

After a brief silence, Kirsten clasped her hand and then leaned towards him, staring intently at him, “While we are waiting, why don't you tell us about your family” she said. “There's nothing interesting about his family.” Raven scoffed. “Then let him entertain us.” Kirsten retorted and the rest of them readily agreed with it. He was tired and frustrated from repeating the same thing several times. “Yes, why? Aren't you comfortable with yours? Don't ever think of committing suicide because if you do, I will personally dice your body into tiny pieces.” He said, pun intended but Wembley wasn't buying it. Grabbing his cutlery, he started to fill his mouth with food, trying to forget all that was happening but it was impossible. Chase on the other part had resumed eating. Standing in front of room 184 was Chase. He had his head bent to the ground as he contemplated on whether he should go in or not. Having spent four months with Raven with no dates or even a friendly conversation, he was skeptical about the whole thing. His instincts kept bugging him but at this point, he didn't know whether he should leave or not. After several minutes of standing in front of the room, he grabbed the handle and then pushed the door in only to be greeted with an empty room. “Raven.” He called, looking around but there was no sign of a human in the room. “I knew it was room 284.” He muttered as he walked towards the door. Grabbing the handle, he tried to pull it open but he couldn't. Wondering what the issue was, he did it the second time but it was the same result. Suddenly, he heard footsteps and he swirled around only to see a lady who was half naked walking up to him. “What are you doing here?” He asked, his eyes bulging with fear as she closed the distance be

This was the second time he was seeing her after he got married to Raven. “I came to speak to my husband to be… is that a crime?” She didn't allow him to give a response before tossing her car key towards him. “Can you drive?” She asked. “Yeah.” “Gray Honda Civic.” For more than five minutes Chase remained where he was not making any effort to move his feet. He had his gaze fixed on her as he tried to wrap his head around what was happening. “Fine, if you are not driving, I will.” Zara said, trying to snatch the key from him but he didn't let her.
