Chap 03

“T-this is 100 million dollars? You’re suddenly rich, Charles!” Daniel yelled loudly and shook his friend's shoulder a bunch of times because he wanted to show that he wasn't just imagining things.

“That’s right; it’s not a dream! I’m rich, Daniel! I’m rich!”

Charles felt happy when he looked at Daniel. He never thought he would have so much money because he only worked part-time as a bodyguard at a fancy hotel. His salary was lower than his friends because he only worked part-time.

After working part-time at night, he usually went back to work during the day as a bodyguard somewhere else. But he didn’t become a bodyguard in a good place; Charles was only in charge of guarding a school with very little salary.

“I’m so glad you finally have some money, Charles. You no longer need to live in this cramped boarding room, nor do you need to prostrate in front of Isabel. You are rich now, Charles. You also have a bright future.” Daniel cheered happily.

“Yes, I will prove that I also have a bright future. I’ll show Isabella I can also give luxury goods like her new boyfriend.”

Daniel tapped Charles on the shoulder to stop him from getting too wild. “Don’t act rashly, Charles. You do have to show Isabella that you can succeed. But remember, don’t even think about getting back together with that bitch.”

Charles wasn’t talking for a bit, but then he agreed with what Daniel said. Daniel was right. He must not get out of control and become Isabella’s money slave in the end.

“Yes, yes. Thank you, Daniel. Thank you for helping me all this time, even though you know I’m just an abandoned child in an orphanage.”

“Hahaha! Take it easy. You’re a rich man’s son now, and I think you should pay for all my services now. How about it?” Daniel raised his eyebrows, mocking Charles.

“Well then, how about we have dinner at the place where I work? It’s not far from here. I think we should also taste rich people’s food occasionally."

Daniel and Charles were having a great time together and were very happy. Charles was especially happy because he saw a family member he thought didn't care about him. Money didn't matter; it was just great to be together.

Charles was happy to see his grandpa, who loved and searched for him for 20 years until they finally met. “Oh yeah, how did you know that my grandfather was in front of my boarding room?” asked Charles curiously.

“Hmmm. Do you believe that I contacted your grandfather?”

“Huh? No way. You don’t know my grandfather.”

“Hahaha. I didn’t know what was going on either. At that time, one of the caretakers of the orphanage where you’ve lived since childhood suddenly called your cell phone, and you, who was passed out at the time, didn’t know. I picked up the call, and she said a family member was looking for you.”

Charles nodded. “So, the orphanage caretaker gave my grandfather the address of my boarding room?” He asked for confirmation.

“It seems so.”

“Thank you, Daniel. Thank you.” Charles smiled slightly; he looked at Daniel with an emotional gaze. “Don’t worry about it. I’m glad I could help you. So, can we go to the hotel where you work now? I’m hungry!”

“Of course. Come on!”

“Are you sure we’re eating at this place?” Daniel asked in a doubtful tone.

“Of course. Don’t you want to eat rich people’s food?”

Daniel was looking at a big, strong building where his friend worked at night. It’s a fancy hotel with seven stars! When Daniel went inside, he knew that it wasn’t a place where people without a lot of money usually go.

“It’s okay. Let’s go in. The bodyguard in this place is also my friend, so you don’t have to worry about us getting kicked out of here. Hahaha.”

Charles gave Daniel a friendly pat on the shoulder and laughed because he thought it was funny that Daniel was thinking too much.

“We have money anyway. So you don’t have to worry about getting kicked out. Let’s go in!”

Daniel went along with Charles to the lobby of a hotel. They wanted to go to the restaurant there, but a bodyguard who didn’t like Charles stopped them.

“Uh, Charles. Where are you going? Isn’t your shift over?” asked Robby.

“Hi, Robby. Today I would like to invite my best friend to dinner.” Charles explained.

“Pfft! Are you kidding me? You two want to eat here? Do you have money?” Robby mocked Charles with a sarcastic laugh.

Charles, who felt embarrassed, quickly gave Robby an intense look. “Of course I have money, Robby. I work in this place and, of course, know the food prices in this hotel. I wouldn’t dare to eat in this hotel if I didn’t have money.” Charles replied with the same tone of sarcasm.

“Don’t be shameless like that, Charles! You two should get out of here and then get fired for not being able to pay dinner money later!” Robby pushed Charles’ chest away and left the hotel lobby.

“Hey, what the hell! Is this how a bodyguard treats a hotel guest?” Charles asked.

“You’re looking down on me? You’re also a bodyguard! Hurry up and leave! The presence of the two of you in this place could pollute and disturb other hotel guests!”

This time Robby acted more anarchist. He asked the other bodyguards to drag Charles and Daniel out of the hotel.

They both, of course, rebelled, but to no avail. The two were dragged from the hotel lobby and pushed out violently.

“Ow! Aw!” Daniel winced softly as his elbow rubbed against the floor.

“You! I’m going to report you to the manager of this hotel! Even though I’m a bodyguard, I’m off duty. What’s wrong if I want to eat at this place? I have money!” Charles shouted angrily.

“Money? What money? Even your month’s salary at this place wouldn’t be enough to pay for a piece of cake at this hotel!” Robby shouted back.

“Tsk, you doubt me? I can even tip you guys an amount you’ve never received!”

“Prove it! Let’s prove it!” Robby challenged Charles.

“If you can give me a good tip, I’ll kneel and lick your dirty shoes!” Robby insulted Charles. He knew his coworker couldn’t afford to eat at the hotel where they worked.

“Oh, is that so? Okay. Get ready to lick my dirty shoes, Robby!”

Charles took out his cell phone and asked for Robby’s bank account number. Quickly, he transferred ten thousand dollars.

“T-this? Is this for real? 10 thousand dollars?” Robby shouted in surprise.

“Yes. I’m giving you a ten thousand dollar tip. So, quickly lick my shoes right now because I’m hungry and want to have dinner with my friends immediately.” Charles smiled and lifted his foot. He told Robby to lick his shoe as he had planned.
