Jack’s Smooth Move

As Jack returned to the hotel where he had left Carrie, he realized he was a little too late. Carrie had already awakened, her demeanor slightly frantic as she paced the lobby, searching for something. Jack quickly ducked behind a pillar, his heart racing as he listened in on Carrie's conversation with the receptionist.

"Have you seen my employee ID card?" Carrie asked, her voice tinged with urgency. "It's really important."

The receptionist offered Carrie a sympathetic smile, her tone gentle as she tried to reassure the distraught woman. "I'm sorry, ma'am. Guests are responsible for their personal belongings, but we'll do our best to assist you in finding it."

Carrie's eyes widened with desperation, her voice trembling as she pleaded with the receptionist. "Please, you have to help me find it. My office will charge me if I've lost it. And more importantly, it must not fall into the wrong hands!" Her distress was palpable, her fear of the consequences evident in every word.
