Proof Time

"Okay, proof time," Jack said firmly, looking at the man with unwavering determination.

Ashley Norton, who had been secretly watching their conversation, noticed an unusual amount of confidence in Jack's face. She was intrigued and curious about what would happen next.

Jack took out his cracked cell phone and opened it carefully. He opened a banking app and showed his staggering account balance.

"Here's the proof," Jack said, showing the balance display to the one hundred million dollar mark. "A hundred million dollars in my account."

The guard was silent, his eyes widened in disbelief. He looked closely at the cellphone screen shown by Jack, trying to make sure that it was not a trick or engineering.

"Wait! This must be a lie! He must be cheating to get that kind of money!” cried the security guard in panic.

Ashley Norton, unable to hide her surprise, approached the two of them. She saw the balance displayed by Jack, and her face contorted into one of admiration.

"I will call the police now!" exclaimed the security guard while taking his cell phone.

"Go ahead. I don't mind," Jack replied calmly.

“Mr. Williams, I can prove the truth, no need to call the police now, "said Ashley, taking something out of her blazer pocket. It was a small flat, rectangular electronic object. There's some sort of screen and pad for the cards there.

"I can check your account. This is a procedure connected to the bank, we will know if the account is not verrified. You just need to put the card in the middle of this tool and verify your data with fingerprints," said Ashley, holding it in front of Jack.

Jack reached into his pocket. Luckily he still had his wallet in his pocket. Jack took out the shabby and holey wallet and took out his card. Immediately, he placed it in the middle of the tool. The device beeps when it does this.

"Your fingerprints, sir," Ashley said politely.

Jack immediately pressed his thumb in the space provided. The screen on the device immediately detected Jack's identity.

[Account verified. No fraud detected.]

"This... how unexpected," Ashley said in a surprised voice. "A hundred million dollars?"

Jack nodded, still with the mysterious smile on his face. He was satisfied to be able to prove to them that he was not the impostor he had previously been accused of being.

The security guard felt embarrassed and a little depressed.

"I'm sorry, sir. I have judged you wrong," said the security guard in a low voice. "I didn't expect that you have such a large amount of money."

Jack nodded in understanding, but his gaze remained sharp.

“So, what about your earlier bet? I could even buy this office property,” Jack sneered.

The security guard trembled and immediately knelt in front of Jack.

“Sir, I'm sorry. I can't lose this job. I have a wife and three children," he pleaded.

He sighed.

“I will let you keep working here. Promise to be nicer to anyone,” said Jack

Ding!

[A good deed has been done. The user gets 10 points. One point is equivalent to one million dollars. Does the user want to exchange it for money or something else?]

Jack wasn't used to the sound of the system yet, he was almost startled but managed to control himself. He silently pressed the minimize button.

"Thank you sir! Thank You!" cried the security guard.

"So can I buy a house now?" Jack asked Ashley.

Ashley Norton, still in awe of what she just saw, decides to offer Jack her help.

"I'm sorry sir. My name is Ashley Norton. I work here as part of the marketing team," Ashley said kindly. "If you are really serious about buying a house, I would be happy to help you."

Jack turned and looked at Ashley with a look of gratitude.

"Thank you Miss Norton. I would appreciate your help," said Jack with a genuine smile on his face.

The two of them stepped into the real estate agency building with a new hope that began to grow in Jack's heart. He knew that a big change had come in his life, and he was ready to take on his new role as a rich man.

“What kind of house do you want? I will start recommending a few houses that you can choose according to your preferences, "said Ashley politely while guiding Jack to a seat. She motioned to the office girl to bring drinks.

At the same time, the events that just happened directly reached the ears of the property office manager.

"What? What's his name?" asked Tom Kenny, the manager at the property's office over the phone. He got reports from several marketing who saw the event.

“Jack Ashworth? I've never heard that name before. Maybe he is a businessman from another city? That amount of money was nothing compared to the wealth of this city's conglomerate. Only, maybe he still has a lot of money in his other accounts. I'm going to call my friend in banking, find out more about who he is and whether the money is really his. In the meantime, treat him well," said Tom again. Then he turned off his phone.

Meanwhile, Jack is still looking through the catalog of houses Ashley gave him.

"I want a ready-made house that I can move into right now," Jack said.

"Sir, we have several houses that are complete with furniture and others, but still there must be some checks to make sure everything is completely safe and ready for use," said Ashley.

“I'm going to buy one of those houses. Can you do the inspection right now? I need a place to stay for the night," Jack replied.

“Oh sure… Of course Mr. Ashworth,” Ashley replied.

"Just call me Jack."

Ashley smiled at that, then she also said, "And just call me Ashley."

Suddenly, Tom Kenny came out of his office. He had heard of scruffy Jack but had a hundred million dollars in his account. However, he didn't expect Jack to actually be such a dirty beggar. He couldn't help but cast a scornful glance at Jack and suspect him.

"Ashley, come here a minute," said Tom.

"Okay, Mr. Kenny. Wait a minute Mis – er I mean, Jack,” Ashley said, getting up and approaching Tom.

“Ashley, are you sure our electronics are okay? I'm not sure if he really has any money," Tom said in a low voice, but Jack could still hear him clearly.

"The engine is fine, Mr. Kenny. I've just used it for another customer before and had no problems,” Ashley replied.

“Just watch out, if we get tricked, you will lose your job, Ashley! All of this is your responsibility! You know our office is at a loss this year. The boss wants to sell this office and I don't know what will happen if that happens. It could be that the new owner downsizes or completely changes management and we will all lose our jobs,” said Tom, wiping his sweaty forehead. Considering the loss and the issue of selling this office made him nervous.

“How much will your boss sell this office? Make the offer,” Jack said suddenly.

“W-what?” Tom was surprised by it.

“I asked how much this office costs. I'm interested in buying it, "said Jack again.

Tom saw Jack one more time and this time he was absolutely sure that Jack was a fraud. He couldn't suffer heavy losses due to fraud. Because of that, his emotions were running high.

“Please don't waste our time. If you are really interested in buying a house, choose one and get out of here,” he said. Tom thought Jack would just buy a mediocre house and say crap for people's eyes.

“Ashley, I'm interested in the mansion you offered earlier. Ten million dollars, right? I'll pay it now, paid off,” said Jack.

“A-Alright, Jack.”

Ashley immediately took out the electronic machine, but Tom immediately prevented it.

"If it's a scam, you're going to be in jail right away," he told Jack.

Jack just smiled in response. He takes out his card which is not a black card. Tom snorted at him. Such a card cannot make large payment because there is a limit.

“I am willing to make payments directly at the bank if my card is hit by a limit. After the transfer is successful and you check your account, you can call your boss and say I'm interested in buying his office," said Jack again.

That sounds like a challenge for Tom.
