Gordon looked around anxiously. "Has there been a lawyer?" he asked, wishing someone could help them with the situation.

Rita held Gordon's hand gently. "Not yet, dear. We haven't found the right lawyer yet."

Gordon nodded, but his gaze was filled with astonishment. "But we always have family lawyers, right? Why don't we ask them for help?"

Rita swallowed her breath, feeling sad to have to tell this truth. "Honey, your father didn't allow our family lawyer to interfere in this case."

Gordon was surprised. "But why? They are always there to help us with any problem."

Rita placed her hand on Gordon's cheek gently. "Gordon, your father has reasons of his own. He is worried that this will further damage our family's reputation."

Gordon felt both confused and angry. "Why does he hate me, Mom? We are father and son."

Rita tried to reassure Gordon, hugging him tightly. "Honey, your father doesn't hate you. He's just worried and upset about what happened."
