Ryan stretched his hand out to the nurse assisting him. She dropped the scalpel in his hand and he made to make an incision on his patient’s thigh.

He saw the nurse exchange glances with the other nurse. He knew they were wondering why he was doing that because it was not something they had gone over in the briefing before the surgery.
