The boardroom remained silent, the influential figures around the long, polished table exchanged glances. Andrew sat calmly, arms crossed, an amused smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

One of the older board members, Mr. Caldwell, cleared his throat and finally spoke.

“Given Mr. Everest’s… history, I propose a vote.” He looked around the table. “It’s in the best interest of the company that we determine who should remain at the helm—Miriam, who has led Stellarite Resources to unprecedented growth, or Andrew Everest, who—”

He didn’t finish his sentence, but the meaning was clear.

Miriam looked hesitant, her fingers tightening around the back of the chair she was standing beside.

One by one, the hands of the board members began to rise.

“All in favor of keeping Miriam as CEO?”

Slowly, nearly every hand in the room went up.

Andrew didn’t react. He simply watched, his expression unreadable.

Miriam turned toward him, her face filled with false reluctance. “Andrew… you see, the board h

Not the Shanghai police. It was the MSS a dozen agents moved with lethal precision, dressed in dark tactical gear, their weapons sweeping the area. They weren’t here to clean up. They were here for him.Andrew saw them before they saw him.He was standing near Adeline, his hands still covered in Zhao Long’s blood. His breathing steady. His mind already calculating the next move.A man in a dark suit, one of the higher-ups, strode forward, his expression cold and unreadable.“Step away from the girl.” His Mandarin was clipped, authoritative.Andrew didn’t resist. He already knew how this worked.Adeline, however, wasn’t as calm. She grabbed his arm. “Wait! He saved us! For a moment, there was only silence. Liu Wenjie stood in the center of it all, completely unfazed. He had just walked into Zhao Long’s so-called stronghold, untouched, unchallenged, and in complete control. His men had already taken strategic positions, weapons trained on the cyber-terrorists who had foolishly believed they were the only ones holding power here.Andrew, however, was not as easily impressed.Liu turned to him, his smirk never faltering. “Welcome to the winning side.”Andrew didn’t move. His sharp blue eyes remained locked onto Liu, unreadable. Then, in a slow, deliberate tone, he said, “I didn’t agree to be your dog.”Some of Liu’s men chuckled at the remark, but Liu himself merely tilted his head, watching Andrew as if trying to decipher a puzzle.“No,” Liu said, “but you agreed to survive. One of the high ranking officials spoke. That was when Liu Wenjie spoke up."Storming the building is a fool’s move." "The moment your soldiers step inside, those hostages are dead."A high-ranking official scoffed. "And what would you propose, Liu? That we let them run the airport like a goddamn amusement park?"Liu’s smile didn’t falter. "I propose you let me handle it."There was a pause. • Am I Pregnant?

A dull ache throbbed in the back of Andrew’s head, pulsing with every slow, sluggish beat of his heart. His eyelids felt heavy, like weights were pulling them down, but as he forced them open, a harsh, fluorescent light stabbed into his vision. He inhaled deeply, only to be met with the stale, artificial air of a sealed-off room."Where am I?" He tried shifting, but the sharp tug on his arms stopped him. Then it hit him, he was restrained. Thick ropes dug into the skin of his wrists, binding his hands behind the back of a cold metal chair. His ankles were secured to the chair legs, making it impossible to move.Andrew exhaled slowly, forcing his brain to catch up.The last thing he remembered was the chaos on the plane. All he needed to do now was go to a safe place.Few hours later, Andrew had sucessfully gone to one of his numerous safe house. This particular one was a modest apartment hidden in the outskirts of Lantana City. The place was nothing compared to his penthouse or even his secondary residences, but right now, it was the only place where he wouldn’t be tracked.Across the room, Fredrick, Leon, and Taylor stood as they searched through multiple news articles, financial reports, and social media feeds. Taylor finally turned from his laptop, his face grim.“This is worse than last time,” he said. “The police aren’t just investigating you, Andrew. They’re actively hunting you down. They’ve put out a warrant.”Andrew leaned back, exhaling sharply.“They’ve backed me into a corner,” he murmured.Leon crossed his arms. “And if they
