Day One Quest – Part 1.

He touched the image of the bag out of curiosity and discovered an unopened package inside.

As Taylor touched the envelope, he mentally heard the bot say, "Congratulations! You've got an umbrella now! [Accept or reject?]

Taylor paused. How does one use an umbrella? Is it raining when I walk? What an odd present.

The bot's voice spoke once more while he was still considering his options: "You can keep the present in the bag if you choose not to use it! Should I accept or reject this system gift?"

Taylor doesn't hesitate, despite having a disability. I will always accept gifts of any kind. "I will definitely take the present. Simply store it in the bag."

A distinct noise was heard, and Taylor noticed that the only thing on the lengthy list of bags in the system was an umbrella.

Taylor opened her mouth to ask a question, but the bot cut her off.

Taylor's expression changed to one of annoyance at not always being able to ask inquiries.

[Every system task has been finished. We can discuss tomorrow morning.]

The screen turned black, leaving Taylor's view limited to his small room and the several soiled garments strewn all over it. Since Taylor had taken the door leaf to the Dragon Gate Shop, the connecting door appeared to be empty. Taylor lay down, sighing as he realized his chamber resembled a wrecked ship.

In the hopes that fortune would favor him the following day, he went to sleep. And his secret to unanticipated success was that system.

What was the next quest that Taylor would be able to complete with ease? Would Taylor still reap the benefits from his lotto purchase from yesterday? After a while, Taylor slept soundly. Like in the video game The Gran Master Alchemist, he was an alchemist in his dreams!

Taylor woke up very early, probably due to the euphoria of having the system give an advantage. Although he still felt sleepy, he woke up quickly. It was still dark outside when Taylor looked out of the window.

"Quest begins!"  he murmured enthusiastically.

"System, activate!"  he added.

The system screen immediately appeared before his eyes. Taylor's heart was full of excitement. "Hopefully Today there will be a task that generates huge profits. With this, I can get rich quickly," Taylor thought, not noticing the greedy smile on his face.

[This heart quest. Treat five different people to a meal, and the system task will be given to you! Notes: You must spend at least 100 dollars per person.]

Taylor was surprised. "Do I work in a social institution?"  he complained. "Why do I have to spend 100 dollars treating people to a meal? Can't it be cheaper?" Taylor complained. he wasn't a cheapskate, but spending $100 just for a meal for two seemed excessive to her. he compared it to the delicious burgers sold on the side of the road that only cost 2 to 5 dollars.

This frugal living habit made Taylor very careful in his spending.

Without realizing it, the system was like a living being responding to her. His voice echoed in Taylor's mind as if the system could sense his complaints.

"Daily quests cannot be refused. Violating or ignoring the Quest will result in punishment!"

Taylor was surprised. "Is this a living thing? Or a living being?" Taylor felt goosebumps. Feigning elegance, he asked, "System, can you explain the consequences I will receive if I refuse to do the Quest?"

Silence...

[The punishment for willfully refusing a Quest has several levels, ranging from mild to severe. The most severe punishment is death!]

Startled, Taylor immediately ran to the bathroom to get ready for the day's culinary adventure.

Taylor didn't have many friends, especially since he had recently been unemployed and spent hours playing the online game "The Grand Master Alchemist ."That's why, after getting out of the house and walking towards the city center, Taylor was at a loss, "Who am I going to eat with?"

Suddenly, a bread vendor selling his wares on a bicycle passed by. Asian-accented music echoed his jingle. Taylor's mind raced, "I know who I'm going to eat with!"

Time had flown by, and now Taylor was standing in front of the Dragon Gate storefront, waiting for the opening time.

SREEK!

The storefront curtain opened, and Taylor unhesitatingly entered the store. The Asian woman was surprised to see Taylor coming so early.

"The lottery isn't on sale at this hour. Go have some fun first, an hour later you can buy as many lottery tickets as you want!"

"I don't want to make a deal. I want to treat you to breakfast. Did you have breakfast?"

The woman frowned. Then, she said, "I know. It must be because you just won the lottery, right? Look, young man, our relationship is just between a seller and a buyer. You don't need to feel burdened by yesterday's lottery win. Remember, Today you can win and get rich, but tomorrow you can lose and go broke!"

"I'm not taking you to breakfast to thank you. I'm doing it because there are only a few people I know who are nice to me. You are one of them!"

There was silence again. The woman went into the store for a moment, then came out looking new, wearing a coat that looked like an old-fashioned robe to Taylor's eyes but was luxurious.

They had breakfast at the Golden Palace Restaurant, a fancy Asian restaurant. Taylor marveled at Rubby Lim's appetite.

It was supposed to be breakfast, but there were heavy dishes on the table, including bear-tread soup and other fancy dishes.

Taylor was shocked when He paid with an ATM card, almost choking. "1500 dollars, all without cash!"

Even though his ATM balance was 190,000 dollars, to have breakfast with a friend was a huge amount of money. Taylor's heart almost fell out of his chest. This morning, Taylor had gone to the bank, cashed the check, and put it in savings.

This is just one person out of 5 from the challenge given by the system. The sun is overhead and it will be afternoon soon. Will Taylor complete all the challenges given by the system?
