Grandmaster Alchemist and Inspiration

The sky was clear that night without a black cloud hanging over the horizon. Taylor whistled happily, feeling proud that he had successfully overcome all his challenges. "What will the system give me this time?" he muttered, walking down the street steadily.

Taylor could have opened the screen on the way to see the reward the system gave her, but he preferred to wait until he got home. "I want to enjoy this gift in peace," he thought with a satisfied smile.

At 11 pm, Taylor arrived home. As planned, he went straight to the bathroom, letting the warm water envelop his body despite the chill in the air. "This thick blanket will make me forget that it's actually cold!" he said with a smile.

After his shower, Taylor couldn't wait to experience the system's gift. "System, please open!" he ordered.

The screen lifted, and Taylor saw words congratulating the system.

"[Please open the inbox, and you will be surprised]," the message read.

His heart skipped a beat as Taylor ordered, "Open the mailbox!"

"[Congratulations! You got a reward for passing on the wealth system. Choose a profession below that will make you surprised to enter the world of the rich!"]

Taylor's eyes lit up. "This is what I was looking for!" he said enthusiastically, lowering the cursor to look at the list of exciting professions.

"Entrepreneur? Movie producer?" Taylor ignored all the professions, from professional to more youthful ones. However, they all caught his interest.

"Actor?" Taylor laughed. "Since when did I look like someone who likes to pretend and dress up? Skip!"

However, when it came to the end of the list of professions offered by the system, none of them caught his attention. Taylor's face froze, annoyed that the job he wanted was not on the list.

Without hesitation, Taylor pressed the voice chat button instead of typing on the keyboard. "Isn't it possible to apply for a profession outside your offer? - Taylor."

The screen flickered, indicating it was processing Taylor's request. Soon, letter after letter appeared on the net.

"[The system decided that it is possible! However, there is a price to pay. The rarer the profession the user wants, the heavier the price!"]

Taylor was instantly excited. From being lazy and just lying down, he now sat up excitedly. Taylor had been involved in the Grand Master Alchemist game for a long time, often reading fantasy stories about the greatness of alchemists and healers on the platform. He dreamed of becoming a healer because he was obsessed with the family company - the largest pharmaceutical industry in Accomont.

Logan McGill, Taylor's grandfather, was a conglomerate whose primary business was pharmaceutical. By inventing cutting-edge drugs, McGill Pharmaceuticals grew from a family business that only sold medicines to an industrial giant. The McGill Company then ventured into cosmetics, perfumes, and other beauty industries that are very popular among women worldwide.

Who in the world hasn't used cosmetics from the McGill Company factory?

"I want to be a Gran Alchemist and healer. Non-negotiable!" Taylor wrote on the illusion keyboard, waiting for a response from the system.

Waiting was tedious. Taylor's heart pounded when a minute passed, and the system had yet to reply to his request. Finally, there was a 'Beep!' and the cursor moved on the screen. Taylor's chest was pounding.

"[The price to pay for the ancient professions of Healer and Alchemist, is to sever ties with your lover! This price is non-negotiable! Offer valid only three hours from now!]." Beep!

"What?" Taylor was struck with profound confusion. Breaking up with Grace? "This is impossible!" Taylor's chest was pounding. Even his heartbeat could be heard now. Anger at the system's terms made Taylor rebel. With trembling hands, he tried to type a protest question.

Enter!

However, the system was silent and still. Only a blank, faded blue screen appeared in front of us. The design deliberately did not respond to Taylor's protests.

When desperation struck and ten minutes passed, the screen suddenly flashed.

Beep!

His eyes lit up, and he read the message on the screen enthusiastically.

"[The reward for successful completion of the mission is the AI intelligence capital of the Nine heavenly path Technique Manual book. It is about traditional medicine knowledge, ancient rune knowledge, and unique symbol writing and spiritual abilities."]

"[Mission completion time is 2 hours and 30 minutes! If you fail the mission, not only will all challenges from the beginning be forfeited, but the system user will also be penalized!]."

Panic! Taylor panicked.

"Damn the system, why should there be a time limit for a task like this!" Taylor cursed to herself.

A few seconds passed, and Taylor needed clarification. "Alchemist and Healer, or stay with Grace and choose another profession?"

In his heart of hearts, Taylor's greatest desire was to take revenge on his father's family, especially his grandfather Logan McGill, who broke off the family ties with his father, Robert. Taylor's family had to live a miserable life, while his cousin David Mitchel lived like a Crown Prince in the McGill Company.

David's mother was the sister of Robert, Taylor's father. So, naturally, David did not carry the McGill name behind his name. In contrast, Taylor, who took the McGill name, had to live in poverty as he does today. He even had to go on academic leave due to a lack of funds.

David Mitchel went to Accomont University with Taylor.

During university admissions, David initially only hung out with fellow wealthy business people, looking amused at Taylor, who tried to get along with him. He didn't admit that he knew Taylor when Taylor addressed him as a cousin.

"Go away! I don't have any commoner cousins!" David shooed Taylor away like a disgusting cockroach. Everyone laughed and looked down on Taylor.

Taylor left in shame. He only felt happy because he saw his brilliant cousin, especially being able to go to the same university. David majored in Medicine, while Taylor majored in Pharmacy. Unfortunately, Taylor had a problem with money. Pharmacy school requires a lot of money for practicum, and Taylor finally gave up.

An hour passed, and Taylor's time was running out. He was still deciding. His best decision was to call Grace.

He made five calls, and there was no response. Taylor put on a thick jacket and went to see Grace.

The wind was blowing hard, and Taylor staggered through the city streets. Luckily, Grace's house was not far away. He waited under an old-fashioned street lamp, pacing back and forth to escape the cold. Just as Taylor reached the point of impatience, the sudden squeal of car brakes could be heard cutting through the quiet. The sound of flirtatious giggling came down the street, even before the door of the Mazda MX-5 Miata sports car.

"Grace?" Taylor's eyes widened at the silhouettes of the two figures kissing in the car.
