"Mom, when is dad coming home?" Elizabeth asked.

Sheila stopped dicing the big onion as she turned to stare at her daughter.

Elizabeth was helping her in the kitchen when she asked that question.

"He'll be back soon," Sheila replied. "It's just a matter of time."

"Couldn't he at least leave a message or a call?" Elizabeth asked. "It's been over six month now. I'm afraid something bad has happened to him."

Sheila instantly became worried. She do see the good deeds Elijah and his disciples do on the television but it saddens her that he never made any effort to reach out to his family.

Now that she had gotten the workload as chairwoman of Smith Industries, she was now faced with one big problem— Elizabeth.

Sheila didn't know how long Elijah planned to keep Elizabeth in the dark, but she had a feeling this wouldn't last anymore.

Elizabeth is no longer a kid.
