"Do you feel pity for her?" Anna decided to break the silence.

She had been looking at him every now and then and not saying anything yet. But now, she couldn't hold back the need to ask a question. The urgency was impending and very compelling.

Cory shifted his gaze from the other side of the moving car to look at her. When he gazed at her, he noticed that there was desperation in her eyes.

It would seem as though she couldn't wait to hear what he had to say. He could see that she wanted his approval so badly. She must love him so much.

He would be a fool if he pretended not to know that.

"Do you think I should?" Cory teased, throwing back the question at her.

When the question hit her, her brows furrowed. She was quick to be angered. She wasn't quite far from her father when it comes to emotions like that. After all, they were cut from the same cloth.

"What are you doing? You can't answer a question with another one." Anna was not willing to let him win this argument.

Cory's
