To Cory, it seemed as though the more moments he spent with Anna, the more she tried to confuse him. For a split second, he could have thought she was trying to pull a prank on him, but looking at how serious and intentional her facial expression was, he realised that she meant every word she had just said.

"Although you were able to detect the poison, how can we guarantee that I will be really safe henceforth?" Anna asked.

"What do you mean?" Cory was trying not to miss the point that she was trying to stress.

"My father owns so many thugs. In short, he owns a myriad of them. Yet the multitude of thugs he has couldn't protect me from the poison. Even I didn't know how I could have been poisoned, let alone the thugs." She went silent for quite a while.

"You are the only one who found out about it. If I have you around me all the time, then I won't have to worry about my safety. Because..." She lowered her voice as she walked closer to him.
