'What are these fools doing?' Cory thought. He looked very offended by the gestures of these cannibals. When their actions registered in his mind eventually, he started to shake his head as though he would make it fall off his neck. 'No! No! Don't bow to me. Please don't bow to me. I want to kill you all.' Cory wished that the cannibals could hear his thoughts. Why were they bowing to him? What kind of cowards were they? Why couldn't they just put up a fight? He didn't want them to bow to him. It would boycott his plans. The system had told him that killing one cannibal would add five gems to his collection. He had asked the girls to come with him because he had wanted to help them climb down from the mountain. After this, he had decided in his mind that he would return to the mountaintop, to the cannibals and kill all of them. He could count fifty and more of them. By the time he would finish killing the fiftieth of them, he would have acquired all the gems required to go meet h
Cory wanted to act at once but decided not to. Although this strange person was holding him in a chokehold from behind, he wasn't fazed. Even if the person choked him, denying him breathing, he could still separate his consciousness from his body with the qi energy. This means that his body could be dormant, yet his consciousness, which was fueled by his mind and heart, would still be very much intact. He didn't move yet or react because he wanted to understand what this was. He wanted to know who this person calling him a pervert was. He started to sniff for no reason. All of a sudden, his mind zoomed into the past. He recalled the bunny being chased by someone in the past.'Oh, the hunter boy.' Cory smiled when the memory finally hit a cord. Now that he knew who it was, he decided to play along. He remained dormant and would not move. He remained as still as a pole. Richard kept holding on to him in a chokehold from behind until he noticed that Cory was not fighting it anymore.
Richard was having trouble putting his thoughts in place. He really didn't know how to place this, although he was trying his best. He had only just seen Cory whom he had been looking for, and while he was still wondering how Cory had gotten to that spot, leaving where he had lain him, something else had cut his worries short. 'Savior?' He tried to understand what the ladies had just called Cory. He had no idea what to make of it. What does this mean? Does this mean that Cory had met the girls before? If that was the truth, then what was the occasion?Richard was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't know that Cory was now standing about three steps away from him. He wanted to linger in thoughts, an attempt to lay his hands on the most plausible explanation for the situation. All of a sudden, an action nudged him out of the thoughts; When the girls had called Cory, Richard had been distracted. Being distracted meant that he lost his focus on the aim of the gun, too. So, he was not
The girls screamed when the bullet was let out of the metal. For them, this was it. This was where their fate ended. The fierceness of the reality further dawned on them when Cory fell to the earth. They all covered their mouth in horror, making all attempts to muffle the scream. Was this really the end for them? Have they successful being launched into the military rule of Richard's hostility?None of them knew what to think at this point. A couple of them had their heads blank and couldn't help themselves either. "I warned you." Richard's loud voice was heard blaring at them. He was walking in that direction. The girls knew that they should run for their lives, but they could not. They all remained at that spot. Some of them were already mourning the death of Cory. How could the man who have saved them from the cannibals die just like this? But then, when they recalled that he was up against a gun, there was nothing much to sustain the argument with. They were wailing and cryi
The ladies froze in shock. They were so white from shock that they didn't know when Cory walked past and was out of their sight. The body of Richard made a loud thud on the ground before the girls could snap out of the shock. Yet there were still a couple of them holding on to the mirage. They stayed glued to that spot and could do nothing but blink their eyes momentarily. If blinking was not an exercise exclusive in his own right, they probably wouldn't be exercising it at that moment. After several moments have passed away, they were slowly beginning to get a grip of themselves. Cory kept walking down the woods until he got to a place where there was so much soil than trees. He took a couple of steps to the front and looked around him first. Although if someone was trailing him from behind, he would have been able to tell without even turning to check out the person. Yet, for a reason best known to himself, he turned to inspect his surroundings. He saw the bunny in a distance,
When Linda questioned him, Cory's eyebrows furrowed in rage. One of the reasons he had decided to come this far into this island that he bought was because he wanted a life of solitude. A life of solitude meant that he wanted to embrace celibacy and abstain from everything and anything that has to do with sexual intricacies. If he wanted two hundred beautiful women to keep him company on the island, he would have asked his errandboy to go fetch them for him. In fact, if he wanted to build a harem, that would be the least of his worries. What Linda had just said to him offended him a great deal, but he didn't want to act on it. If there was anything he had learned during the process of cultivation, it was the fact that celibacy and utmost focus were the fastest routes to perfect a spiritual life and energy. Celibacy keeps the mind pure, and the spirit is not smeared. Utmost focus in a quiet environment enhances connection and clears out pressures that could foul the air and reduces
All the girls had returned to the tent. They couldn't tell how they got back there, but they were all seated on the rug, staring blankly into the space. A couple of them had their minds wandering around the scene that had unfolded before Cory vanished into thin air. Things like these were only seen in the movies, but not only did they see it, but they felt it equally. Some of them still didn't know what to believe at that moment. Some still thought it was an illusion. Some felt like they had been daydreaming, and none of those was right. "He's not human." One of the girls finally found the boldness to say it. A couple of the girls gazed at her and inspected her face to further analyze the reaction that inspired what the girl had just said. No one gave a comment to what she had said. They looked away as though they didn't want to be part of the conversation. "How did he do that?" Another person asked. "How does he do it?" Someone had another way of putting the question. There
Cory's eyes were super active as he stared at the screen right in front of him. As usual, the bunny had been sent on the secret mission again to gain information for him. He looked intrigued and quite surprised. His eyes trailed from the large screen to the floor as his lips muttered unintelligible words. "They are here for the scroll?" Cory thought out loudly for the first time. His eyes squinted, and he got up on his feet. He sauntered to the refrigerator and brought out a bottle of red wine. He picked a glass and turned a half-filled content of the wine. He took a swig. He shut his eyes, letting the savor invade every corner of his mouth. He shook his head. This was not what he wanted at that moment. He walked away from the refrigerator to the bar that was carved into the corner of the foyer. He grabbed a bottle or vodka and took a fifth of it. His eyes were getting really heavy now, yet he wasn't close to getting intoxicated. There are a lot of perks for living this spiritu
