Irmais was taken off guard by what Cory had just said. Irmais took two steps closer. He turned his ear towards Cory. He was a little bit clueless on top of the load of confusions he already had. He didn't know what to decide. He couldn't tell for a fact whether Cory was asking a question or making a conclusion. "Huh?" He further tried to ask the question. He was not ashamed to ask a question when he was concerned. It seemed like he knew whom he was talking to. He wasn't looking at the body of the man in front of him. He was looking at the essence of the man standing in front of him. He was looking through the eyes of Cory and was seeing his master. "My parents are dead." Cory continued. Cory didn't seem to care that Irmais did not have any clue. He didn't care that he wanted to get the answer to the first question. He was not here to please Irmais. He was here to get this over with as soon as possible. Irmais could also read the reactions on his face. He could tell that much th
"What did you just say?" Irmais really didn't care that he sounded very vulnerable at this point. None of his emotions mattered to him. What Cory had just said held a huge significance to impact everything he had always held on to, everything he has believed. He was on his feet this time, walking even closer and closer to Cory. At this point, it would seem as though he was thinking of walking straight into Cory's body and getting dissolved in the aforementioned. Cory, on the other hand, looked quite unfazed as he stared blankly at the lad in front of him. It was still Irmais, of course, but to Cory Irmais was a lad. "It's been over ten thousand years since you lived in the realm. You've been living in the realm all your life! How come What you have just said?! It does not make any sense to me." Irmais was struggling really hard to get an answer to these questions flying around in his head. He was also trying to do his best to contain the questions, but all he could do was get the
Irmais collected the gem and tossed it down his throat. He had a hard time swallowing it at the first try, so he pushed it back out and chewed on it for the next few moments until it was safe to swallow. Cory didn't stop or wait for him after he collected the gem. Cory was walking away with an urgency. Irmais quickly picked up the pace and started racing after him. "Master." Irmais called eventually. Cory stopped in his tracks. It would seem as though he had just been shocked to his core by the title with which Irmais had just addressed him. He turned around slowly to look at Irmais. Irmais still looked as confused as ever, but this time, there seemed to be a ray of hope lighting up the corner of his face. Cory didn't want to read any extra meaning to this unless he had gotten the exact information he could work with. "Do you believe now that I am your master?" Cory asked, turning fully to face Irmais. Irmais let out a deep sigh. That was a very good question. He was still hav
A couple of girls were gathered in one of the rooms in the villa. Amongst the girls were Rachel, Aine, and Lila. They were four in total. They were all staring at the scroll, which was hung up against the nearest. The scroll had been pressed to the wall with some removable cellotape. The girls would not even exchange gazes, let alone break their sight from the scroll on the wall. It would seem as though they were using the scroll as an aid into another realm. Perhaps it was a portal through which they could see something else. The silence continued for another few seconds until, "Turn it around." Aine suddenly said to no one. When she made that comment, some of the girls nodded to what she had said. It seemed like it was something that the majority would agree on. Lila got up on her feet and rolled over the bed to where the scroll was being hung. She removed the cellotape and then turned the scroll to the other side. "Don't hang it this time. Just hold it up. That should be ab
She freaked out at the sound of the voice and almost rolled over her face to the front. She couldn't have imagined that there was someone else with her in the room. She was sitting by the nearest wall. The two windows of the room were up ahead of her. She could see them far away from where she was seated. The door itself was several steps away from where she was seated. Naturally, she could have thought that someone might have jumped in through the windows, but those were the windows in front of her. In fact, the swan chair was the nearest to the extreme area of that corner of the room. But right now, not only could Lila hear a sudden voice behind her. But there was also a very imposing and ominous presence towering over her from behind. She didn't even know when she fell on her face and tried to roll over. She clutched the scroll to her face as she slowly paved the way in order to give room to her eyes to make the mental judgment. When she eventually looked, she saw a man dres
When Lila saw Cory, she didn't know how she hit the speed, but before she could even think of stopping herself, she was already standing behind Cory. She was hiding behind now. She had run to Cory to seek security. Cory and the monk were quite intrigued by the sudden reaction of Lila. It was something that came out of nowhere. Cory took a glance at her to be certain that she knew what she was doing. She stared at him for a while, then looked past him to the monk who was now smiling. She panicked. Her panic turned Cory's attention to the monk. "Finally, we meet again." The monk started, taking another two steps forward. When the man made the move to the front, Lila tried to hide even safer behind Cory. If she could have her way, she would probably dissolve into his back and disappear. She should be worried that Cory suddenly appeared out of nowhere, but she wasn't. A lot had happened ever since the monk entered into the room. She hadn't been able to keep track of other events. P
She couldn't even begin to process what she had just seen. She didn't know what to make of it and how to make any sense of it. It seemed like it was a form or sort of magic. It didn't sit well with her mind. She could swear with everything she held dear that she saw Cory charge at the monk. In fact! It wasn't a charge! It was more like what the wind could do. He had skipped like the wind and had gotten to the monk before the monk could even lift a hand. If that was right. If what she had seen was true, then what the hell was this in the air?Her eyes still lingered on the pieces of olden skin-like paper flying in the air and landing on several parts of the room. She knew what this meant. It means that the monk had just torn the scroll. But how? How the hell did that even happen?Lila was very confused and lost. She had done a lot of crash projects and even important assignments in college, but she had never accosted something so mind-boggling and ridiculously out of tune like somet
"He can't make us leave. We don't want to leave." One the girls argued fervently. "What did he say precisely to you?""Why was it that you were the only one he said something to? Are you really sure that he said something to you, or are you just making it up?" Linda decided to twist the narrative. Lila had no choice but to glare at Linda. She didn't have the strength to keep foul emotions like this after what she had recently gone through. At first, she had thought that when she came back to the girls, she would be able to tell them everything that she saw and heard. Right now, she was having a second thought. How could she follow through with what she had in mind when one of the girls was already taking her for a fool? She wanted to slap Linda across the face. At least a couple of times, but she couldn't really come to the conclusion as soon as possible. "Why did he want us to leave, though? Does he even know why we are here? I'm sure if he does, he wouldn't think of sending us
