The In-laws Regret

Chapter 15

Bella could only whatch him as he walked away. He said that they won't be meeting each other again. He is just a stranger that she just met, so why did those words hurt her?

Just like that, time passed by quickly and the school year reopened. Bella and Margaret were standing in front of the school right now. Bella looked at the school. It really was big. Her mother already completed the admission process online and there was no need for her to be here. But maybe because she was missing her daughter for some reason, she came all the way here and was standing with her. She won't be seeing her for some time anyway so she wanted to take a good look at her. After all for Margaret, it seemed like this one daughter was the only thing that she had left.

Bella too was feeling quite nostalgic. Up until last night she was feeling very excited. She won't have to deal with the things that keep bothering her. But when she woke up this morning and realized that she won't be seeing her mother for some time, she was feeling nostalgic. Bella knew that her mother really annoyed her. But she was still her mother after all. How can she not feel sad about leaving her like this? And besides, she did not seem okay at her. Her coughs kept getting worse even when she was taking medicines.

Bella wiped her face. Since she had already decided that she is going to go then there is no need for her to continue to be like this. She could see that her mother was feeling sad so she had to be strong. After all, between the both of them, she was the strongest. "Alright mom, there is no need for you to continue to stand here. You can get back to work now I will be fine by myself" Bella said she had always considered herself a really strong person. Something like this definitely won't affect her right?

Margaret sighed. There were lots of words that she wanted to say to her daughter but she did not say them. She was feeling really tired and she could see her words choking up in her. In the end, she could not say a few things. "Bella, you need to take care of yourself. Don't let yourself get sick and don't let yourself get bullied" Margaret said.

Bella nodded her head. "Alright mom, I already heard you. Take care of yourself. Don't get sick when I'm not around. You know that I am not easy to bully. Go back" Bella said. She then turned and walked into the school. Bella, however had no idea how this school was going to change her life.

"Mom, you really don't need to do this. You don't need to drive me here. The driver could have brought me" Nelson said. He did not really like the fact that his mother had taken the trouble to bring him to the school. He was already pissed enough that he had to come here. Does his father really need to torture him like this? He knew reply well what happened two years ago. He knew how much of a hard time he had then. Yet, he still asked him to come to this school! To make matters worse, he even asked him to get engaged to Rachel! Nelson was convinced that he won't be doing that at all.

Rita smiled at Nelson. Even though she was smiling, her mind was a complete mess. Nelson already suffered enough. What else does his father want? Why will he ask him to come to this school? And why will he even want him to have anything do do with Rachel? Rita only knew a little bit about what happened but she could tell that that Rachel isn't a good person at all! And besides, all of them were just Eighteen year olds. At a time like this, they should be enjoying their youth, but instead, their parents were using them like this. It really was sad to whatch.

"You don't have to worry Nelson. It's something that I want to do for my son. After all, I won't be seeing you for some time after all. I don't understand why your father has to do something like this. What does he want? You just came back home after spending two years abroad, you should take that time to spend time with your family, you could have just gone to a normal school! He doesn't need to send you back to this place!" Rita said. She could not help but complain in front of Nelson.

Nelson nodded his head. He could see that his mother was just as angry as him about all of this. But she could not say anything in front of his father. That was his mother's fate. Nelson knew that she really loved him even though she isn't his birth mother but the relationship that she had with his father, sometimes it seemed more like the both of them were business partners more than a husband and a wife. "Don't worry mom. I won't let myself get hurt this time. You also have to take care of yourself. You don't have to deal with my father if you can't. Just ignore him as always" Nelson said.

Then he opened the car door and walked into the school. He meant what he said. He isn't going to get hurt this time around. Rather than him getting hurt, he would rather hurt someone else.

As expected, as soon as Nelson entered Viants High, it attracted the attention of everyone who saw him. It seemed as if Nelson wanted to tell everyone that he was back so he did not just go straight to his room. Instead, he made sure that he walked around the school first. To make sure that everyone saw him. This time, he is definitely going to make his father regret sending him to this school. He can't change his mind about coming here, but his father definitely will regret this decision.

Everyone kept talking about how Nelson was back. Some students even went back to tell their friends that hadn't heard about it. That was how Rachel heard that Nelson was back. She was very excited. She had just returned to school and was lying on her bed when she heard the two girls that she shared a room with talking about it. Nelson is back! And he was currently walking around the school making it known that he is back! Something like this is definitely really interesting!

Rachel got up from her bed and walked over to the two girls that there currently talking about Nelson. "The both of you just said that Nelson is back right? Are you sure about this? Did you see him with your eyes? Where did you see him last?" Rachel asked. She was really excited. Perhaps, this was the first time that she showed any emotions on her face in front of these girls. She was in Viants High for a reason and talking with these girls definitely wasn't her thing. So she kept a cold and depressing aura around her, making one fear her.

The two girls looked at theirselves before they looked at Rachel. This person talking to them right now, is it the Rachel that they know? She actually talked to them today? They knew that they could not offend her or their school life would be over so the first girl immediately started telling Rachel everything. "Yes Rachel. Nelson is back. I saw him with my own eyes! When I last saw him, he was in the school hallway" The girl said.

Rachel did not say more, she just walked out of the room quickly.

Bella kept walking around the school trying to find the room that she had been assigned to. It said Dorm A, room B on the admission slip she was holding but she was having a really difficult time finding it right now. She tried to ask for directions but anyone that she tried to ask just brushed past her and continued on their way. It seemed like some kind of event was happening in the School and everyone was going there. Bella could not be bothered about that. She just wanted to find her room!

After walking for what seemed like an eternity, she saw a building with a big inscription of Dorm A on the door. Bella sighed in relief. Patience really is the key. She found her dorm after all. As Bella walked into the dorm, they was a group of boys who kept looking at her strangely but she could not be bothered to deal with them. Instead, she entered the dorm and went straight to Room B. Bella had already prepared her introduction for whoever might be in the room.

"Hello, I'm Bella Anderson I. . . " However her words stuck in her throat. Inside the room, a boy was sitting on a bed and his upper half body was naked! What is going on here? What is a boy doing in her room? She was told that there students shared a room so she was expecting to see two girls but she saw a boy instead! And he was half naked! Bella felt like she was going to suffer a nose bleed. "You, you, what are you doing right now?! Why are you naked in my room!" Bella yelled. What's worse, he had clearly seen her yet he did not look like he was bothered!

Nelson looked up at the girl in his room. He had seen her since the moment that she entered, but he could not bothered to talk to her. She seemed to have lost her way. It seemed like he was going to enjoy a good show today. Did she just say her room? She was definitely lost then. "Your room? I have every right to do whatever I want in my room. What are you doing here?" He asked. Nelson enjoyed the look of embarrassment that was on her face but he did not try to wear a shirt. She is probably a new student, is he in for a good show this time?

Bella tried to process what she was hearing. He just said that it's his room, how is that possible? The admission slip clearly says that she is in Dorm A room B! "What do you mean by your room? The school assigned me to this room!" Bella said.

Nelson almost burst out laughing. There was a comical expression on his face. "You mean that the school assigned you to Dorm A room B of the boys hostel? Are you sure about that?" Nelson asked. He was already doing enough by telling her that it was the boys hostel. It's up to her to figure it out now.

Bella saw that she had made a mistake and made a fool of herself. She could only mutter sorry and get out. As she scampered out, she could see that the guy was laughing at her. Bella felt like bashing her head in a wall. She just made a fool of herself! She could finally understand now why those boys kept looking at her when she walked in. Couldn't they have told her?! This school sure is weird.

Nelson whatched as she scampered out. She had to admit that she is interesting. He has not let someone like her for a long time now. And besides, everyone at Viants High was getting too old to mess with. Looks like she just delivered herself to him. He will definitely be looking for her. By the way, he heard that Nelson is in the hallway, he should go see him too right? Nelson picked up a shirt and left the room

Nelson was standing in the hallway surrounded by most of the students in the school. This is what he wanted. A grand entry. Since he came here against his will, he should at least make the most of it by causing trouble for everyone right? Since they won't let go of him they were all just going to have to deal with the pain together. For some reason, Nelson found himself searching for Mike in the crowd. Was it nostalgia for their lost friendship? He did not know.

However, instead of Mike, a person that he never wanted to see again showed up in front of him. Rachel!

She pushed through the crowd and stood in front of him. "Nelson! I'm so happy that you are back!" Rachel said. Her tone sounded so friendly, the students could guess for themselves what their relationship is.

Nelson looked at her with an indifferent gaze. In front of everyone he asked. "Do I know you?"

The entire school gasped in shock. Nelson just said that he does not know Rachel? It was obvious that he was doing it to humiliate her!

Rachel was embarrassed. She wanted to just disappear from there. When she was still thinking about what to do someone pushed out of the crowd too.

"Since you've been away from two years, I guess you've forgotten a lot of people. Then have you forgotten about me too Nelson?" It was Mike.

The three of them stood there looking at each other, without saying a word. Each person had their own thoughts.

Nelson glared at Mike. He must be crazy to stand up for Rachel like this. Seems like she hasn't hurt him enough.

None of the students dared to speak when they were like this. But then, all of a sudden, they could see a girl walking towards them, oblivious to what was happening.

She was speaking to someone on the phone. "Mom, I really don't understand this school! Everyone here is a weirdo! I don't want to go here anymore!" She was so focused on her video call that she did not look where she was going. She ended up walking into Mike instead.

"Hey, can you move out of the way?!" She yelled...
