The In-laws Regret

Chapter 16

Nelson was standing in the hallway surrounded by most of the students in the school. This is what he wanted. A grand entry. Since he came here against his will, he should at least make the most of it by causing trouble for everyone right? Since they won't let go of him they were all just going to have to deal with the pain together. For some reason, Nelson found himself searching for Mike in the crowd. Was it nostalgia for their lost friendship? He did not know.

However, instead of Mike, a person that he never wanted to see again showed up in front of him. Rachel!

She pushed through the crowd and stood in front of him. "Nelson! I'm so happy that you are back!" Rachel said. Her tone sounded so friendly, the students could guess for themselves what their relationship is.

Nelson looked at her with an indifferent gaze. In front of everyone he asked. "Do I know you?"

The entire school gasped in shock. Nelson just said that he does not know Rachel? It was obvious that he was doing it to humiliate her!

Rachel was embarrassed. She wanted to just disappear from there. When she was still thinking about what to do someone pushed out of the crowd too.

"Since you've been away from two years, I guess you've forgotten a lot of people. Then have you forgotten about me too Nelson?" It was Mike.

The three of them stood there looking at each other, without saying a word. Each person had their own thoughts.

Nelson glared at Mike. He must be crazy to stand up for Rachel like this. Seems like she hasn't hurt him enough.

None of the students dared to speak when they were like this. But then, all of a sudden, they could see a girl walking towards them, oblivious to what was happening.

She was speaking to someone on the phone. "Mom, I really don't understand this school! Everyone here is a weirdo! I don't want to go here anymore!" She was so focused on her video call that she did not look where she was going. She ended up walking into Mike instead.

"Hey, can you move out of the way?!" She yelled. She was already frustrated enough as it was already. Why are these people still standing in front of her? However she had no idea, that everyone had their eyes on her right now.

Bella was very embarrassed when she left that boy's room. She felt like she should just dig a hole and bury herself in it. How did she manage to make a fool of herself like this on her first day? And that person, he was totally enjoying the look of frustration and embarrassment that was on her face. Even those people standing outside, they could have told her that she is in the Boys dorm but they did not say anything. Because of that, Bella had come to a conclusion. The students at Viants High are weird.

She was still angry, trying to find the girls dorm when her mother video called her. Bella instantly picked it up and stated to complain to her mother. "Mom, I don't like this school at all! I want to quit! I don't want to go here anymore. The students at this school are weird!" Bella said. Because she was staring at her phone screen, she did not look where she was going. As a result she ended up walking into someone. Bella was still pissed and so without looking up she said. "Hey, get out of the way!"

Bella felt like there were lots of eyes looking at her so she raised her eyes and looked up. She was shocked at what she saw. It looked like there was some kind of event going on here! Right now, she was standing in the midst of three people. Two boys and a mean looking girl. What was worse was the fact that Bella could recognize the boy! In fact, she could recognize the both of them! What is going on here? Just what did she get herself into? "You, you, what are the both of you doing here?" Bella asked.

She was still focused on Mike and Nelson that she did not notice that all of the students were giving her weird glances now. She just could not believe that she would actually run into these people here. They go to this school soon? It was just a few days ago when Mike told Bella that there was no reason for the both of them to see each other again, and Nelson, he is the jerk who completely insulted her that day! Standing close to the both of them like this, Bella still had not realized the situation that she was in. Instead, she found herself looking at their faces, trying to compare the two!.

Everyone in the crowd was still shocked trying to process what was happening. But perhaps their shock could never compare to what Mike and Nelson were feeling right now. She actually came to this school? Maybe it was her boldness but Nelson had not forgotten this girl at all! He could still remember the stupid miffed look that was on her face on the day that she bumped into him. He did not just bother himself because he thought that he would never see her again, but somehow, she is in Viants High now? Nelson knew this school well, ordinary people were rare here. Just who is she?

Mike too was shocked. That day, he had told her that the both of them won't be seeing each other again because he felt that they really won't be seeing each other again. The only reason he went there was because of his mind mother. He really wanted to know if she was there. But she had already left before he got there. From the second he saw her, Mike knew that she would be trouble. He likes his peace, getting to know someone like her will only be trouble. Besides, he would be going to school soon, so he told her that they won't be seeing each other. But she appeared in his school? How?

Rachel could see the way that Mike and Nelson were looking at the girl that just walked up to them. Rachel racked her brain trying to figure out what was going on. She knew the both of them really well. After all, up untill two years ago, she was the person that was closest to them. Infact right now, no one was as close to them as her, so she knew them well. She could tell from their gaze that the both of them knows this girl. But who is she? Rachel could not explain it but she did not feel good about her at all! "Who are you!?!" Rachel asked. For someone that she felt this bad about, she had no reason to be nice

Bella looked at the girl that has just yelled at her. It was the mean looking girl. Bella still had not realized that right now, she was the center of attention for the entire school. She was still lost trying to figure out how she ended up in the same place with the both of them! But no matter how confused she was, she wasn't going to let someone like Rachel trample on her! She hated people's bullying the most! "What? What do you all think that you are doing? Why are you standing here and blocking the hall way!" Bella fired back. She did not know that she talking back at Rachel like this was going to make her school life difficult in the future.

Just then, someone pushed out from the crowd. It was Nelson. Since everyone had gathered in the hallway to welcome Nelson, he decided to come too. After all, he helped him that day. There is no way Nelson won't recognize him right? But he was in for a surprise. It looked like a mini war was going on here. Rachel was staring at a girl meanly as usual but the girl was actually staring back! Someone actually stood up to Rachel in Viants High. Nelson smacked his lips. This will be fun to whatch. But what surprised him more, was the girl who did that.

It was the girl that had walked into his room demanding that it was hers. He had to admit, she really is interesting. Getting herself involved in everything on her first day. Too bad she does not have much luck. She encountered Rachel, her life, it's going to be hell from now on. Nelson looked at Mike and Nelson. The both of them had a miffed look of surprise on their face. What really happened here? Ignoring the gaze of everyone, Nelson said in a loud voice. "Nelson! You are finally here! You remember me this time don't you?" He asked.

Nelson raised his eyes and looked at the person talking to him. It was that kid that helped him at the airport. Nelson sighed. He was already tired of this. Clearly they were now causing a scene. And this girl, just who is she?! She actually had the guts to stand up to Rachel and yell back at her! In the entire Viants High, Nelson was sure that the only person who could stand up to Rachel was him and Mike. But this girl yelled at her? It seems like he was going to whatch a good show this time. Without saying anything, he walked away.

Since Nelson was no longer standing there, there was no need for the students to continue to linger around as so soon everyone started to walk away. Even Mike walked away after glancing at her. Bella was confused. Now how was she supposed to find her way? She decided to just ask someone. No need to suffer. She reached out and grabbed a girl that walked past her. The girl was with her friend. "Excuse me but, I'm looking for Dorm A. I'm new here and I've been assigned to room B" Bella explained. Maybe they would be kind enough to help her?

Cynthia looked at her friend Lily. Then they looked back at Bella. Of course they knew her. They had been standing in front of the crowd just now so they saw everything clearly. At least they know that she is the girl that walked into Mike, interrupted Mike and Nelson's open argument, and even yelled back at Rachel. But what really piqued their interest was the dorm and room that she mentioned. Dorm A room B? They had already been notified that they would be getting a new roommate soon. They just did not imagine that it would be the girl who got famous immediately she stepped foot in Viants High!

Lily and Cynthia looked at each other before they decided. Even if they did not help her she would still find it on her own. Then, won't their relationship with her be awkward? They still did not know who she is, just that she caused quite a scene with her entrance. Lily was the one that spoke up. "If that's the case then you can come with us. We are also in Dorm A. Infact I think that we are going to be roommates from now on. It's nice to meet you. I'm Lily Blair. And she's Cynthia Thompson. What about you?" Lily did the introductions.

Bella sighed in relief. At least one good thing has happened to her since she stepped her foot into this school! She actually met her roommates and from the looks of it the both of them were nice enough. Bella had always been good at making friends so she immediately flashed her best killer smile. "Of course it's nice to meet you too. I'm Bella Anderson. I'm new here and I have to admit I don't know a thing about this school. I hope that we can get along well" Bella said.

Lily and Cynthia gave each other a knowing smile. Does she know that everyone in Viants High is probably talking about her now?
