Chapter 8: Reconsider or Conspire

While Tony was about to say something to Paulina. Freddy walked in. He greeted them both but none reply. 

“That's him Tony.”Paulina said, pointing at him. Tony stared at Freddy from head to toe, wondering how Mr. George would choose Freddy over him. 

Freddy proceed towards the door ignoring them when Tony shouted “Stop right there bull dog.” 

“Can't you hear. I'm talking to you gold digger.” Tony added. 

“Make yourself useful and go get him a glass of water.” Paulina added with a smirk. 

Freddy turned towards them staring. 

“What are you looking at? Didn't you hear what she said? Go get me some water, I'm thirsty.” Tony repeated.

Freddy went to get the water. He brought and dropped it on the table before saying. “Next time go get it yourself.”

As Freddy turned to leave, Tony spilled the water he got him on purpose. 

“Oops. Hey Freddy or Breddy man, please do me a favor and clean this up.” Tony said as he placed his feet on top of the table. 

Freddy was disgusted by his behavior and wondered who he could be exactly.

“You poured it on purpose, so why are you asking me to clean it?” Freddy asked angrily. 

Natalie walked in to see Freddy yelling at Tony. 

“How dare you yell at him? Do you have any idea who he is?” She shouted at Freddy back. Tony then pretended to be innocent. 

“Natalie help me, all I did was mistakenly spill some water and now he is saying I should clean it because he's the new boss of the house or something like that.” Tony said with a pathetic pretentious face.

Natalie stared at Freddy like she was going to hit him. 

“I knew it, you can't be anything but a gold digger if you are willingly to marry someone you don't even know at all.” Natalie said as she dragged Freddy by the shirt. 

“Now pack your bags and leave at once.” She said in annoyance. Freddy looked at her and looked at Tony who was smiling. 

“Listen Natalie, I am only here to honor your grandfather. 

I actually came with the intention of explaining to him that we shouldn't be betrothed but I never knew he was in a coma.” Freddy added. 

“Oh really, well now that you are aware of it, please leave. Just go!” She exclaimed.

 “How can I? Not after what the lawyer has said.  

I promise you Natalie that we aren't going to get married but let's wait for Mr. George to wake up and we will work everything out.

If you let me, I think I can help heal Mr George.” Freddy added. 

“You? Heal?” Natalie exclaimed and chuckled. 

“Ok then. Since you want to stay that's fine you don't have to come up with lies. Look around, this house can accommodate at least 1000 people, but em.. you won't be staying here any longer” She added. 

“Gilda! Gilda!” Natalie called out. 

“Yes madam.” Gilda said as she ran upstairs to answer the call. 

“Ma'am you called?” Gilda asked. 

“Yes, please show this trash where we keep our trash.” Natalie said with a smirk. 

Freddy looked at her unsure of what she was about to do. Gilda hesitated before saying “Please come with me sir.” She said, 

Freddy looked at Natalie who was still smirking. “I might need to marry you to access granddad's estates but I don't need to marry you to be the ruler of this house. 

Anything I say is permanent. From now on you will live next to my dog's house because that's what you are.” She added. 

Freddy looked at her and started to understand Mr. George's fears. Natalie was being manipulated by the people around her. 

 “If that's what you want. Then so be it.” Freddy replied as he followed Gilda. 

Natalie was a bit taken aback when he accepted to do so.

The next morning the family gathered around to have breakfast. Freddy was given cold water to bathe despite them having a shower. 

As Freddy walked towards the dining hall, he saw Paulina whisper something into Natalie’s ear. Natalie then smirks. 

“Frederic please I need you to do something real quick before you sit to eat. Frankie has been lazy all day and she needs a walk.” She said with an authoritative tone. Freddy looked at her and did what she wanted. 

When he came back, John asked him to drive his children to school because their driver had retired. 

Freddy was tired and resting by the room next to the dog's house, he saw a maid struggling with loads. He ran towards her and assisted her.

 “Thank you so much.” She said, “But why do you allow this family to bully you so much? From what I heard you are Mr. George's guest, so why do they always mistreat you like this?

I just wish Mr George wakes up soon. When he was still in charge of the house, he is a really nice man but I can't say much about his offspring. 

Miss Natalie was also not always like this, she used to be the only one like her grandfather but now she's letting her family get to her. ” She added. 

Freddy just sighed.

As Freddy was walking by, he saw Tony enter the Hardcastles mansion. He drove his car past Freddy before parking. He then gives his bag to the maid that was beside Freddy.

 “Be a darling and take my bag inside, would you?” He grinned as he removed his sunglasses. He turned towards Freddy and hissed.

“How does he know Natalie though?” Freddy asked the maid. 

“He was her childhood friend and your competition. That's Tony Blake.

 He is Miss Natalie’s em… present Fiance.” She replied before heading for the house.

Freddy stood there a bit stunned wondering, “If Mr. George is aware that Natalie has a Fiancé she really loved based on what she did to him yesterday, why did he make the agreement with grandpa anyways?”

While Freddy was still deep in thought he saw Paulina and Tony hugging in a wierd way. He moved closer to be sure he wasn't seeing things.

Paulina was so pleased to see Tony, that she rushed towards him and gave him a kiss on the lips.

“Paulina what are you doing? How many times have I told you not to do this, what if your sister sees us?” He asked looking around to see if anyone was coming. 

Freddy couldn't believe that Natalie's younger sister was having an affair with her fiancee.
