Chapter 7

Merly burst into the room, her eyes wide with desperation, declaring, “Cancel my divorce this instant!”

The woman looked at Merly, her finger already on the enter button. "Oops... I just pushed it."

Merly's face turned into a shock; her smart device was still connected to Auna.

"Oh, I apologize, Mrs. Merly,” Auna suddenly called. “Our system just processing your divorce. As a result, this bank account will be terminated. Have a nice day."

The screen suddenly went blank.

"Why did you put it in the system?" Merly’s anger flaring at the worker.

“I had tried to give you 15 minutes before, but you refused it! Go back to Mr. Alexander, ask him to sign the marriage papers again," the woman disdainfully said. “Loser!”

In a mixed feeling of fury and loss, Merly walked out.

The guard halted Merly with a lewd grin. "He's signed the divorce papers. Do you have time tonight?"

"Shut up!" Merly snapped, pushing him away angrily.

Outside the parking lot, in the burning heat of the sunlight, she found neither Alex nor Livinia; the luxury car was gone.

"Merly," Ugor hurried over to her, his ugly face glistening with sweat. "I don’t believe what that woman said. I think Alex paid her to lie to you."

"Did you think it’s a lie?" Merly shocked.

"Yeah," Ugor said. "What other reason? Do you really think that poor guy, is part of a royal family?"

"No, never" Merly calmed herself. "So, that bastard played me!"

"You two idiots," a man with a broken car yelled, "do you want to solve this here or in court? I’ve had enough of your stupidity!"

Still, Merly secretly pondered: What if all of this is real?

Taking the finest aircraft, Alex reached the Empire Military's main base in two hours.

The soldiers and generals on the field saluted him with thunderous footstep beats as Alex surveyed them from the podium.

"Welcome back, Supreme Leader!" They yelled in unison with thunderous voices.

"Today, I have been divorced, and my pain, all of you will feel too!" Alex declared with a painfully serious tone.

"Starting immediately and continuing for the next few months, we will endure rigorous military training to enhance our combat capabilities!" The surrounding soldiers blanched, their faces a canvas of dread at his proclamation.

This marked the start of the harshest training the Archelion Military had ever seen.

Yet, Alex left the oversight of all training to Lavinia and his strategist, while he returned to Blackwood City the next morning.

He entered Total Construction company, where he and Merly were employed, with the intention of gathering his belongings and resigning.

The truth was, he already owned 80% of the company's stock. He planned to give this company to Merly as one of his many wedding gifts.

Upon entering the large, spacious office, his colleagues at their working tables looked at him mockingly.

"Ugor fired him. How dare he come back?" Jack the project leader sneered, looking disdainfully.

“Loser.”

"Useless trash."

“I don’t believe he still dare to work here after his wife was taken by Ugor.”

Alex passed all of them without care. When he started working at this company, he began as a field labourer.

Smart and hardworking, his position naturally rose to project Leader after a half year. Now, he navigated both office and field, yet his office colleagues never fully accepted him.

“Alex,” Lucas the senior manager sneered, “how does it feel knowing that your wife has been sleeping with Ugor for half a year?”

The others laughed, “You're now Alex the cuckold.”

Another colleague draped his arm around Alex’s shoulder, teasingly remarking, “Can't keep your wife satisfied? You should ask me for her!”

Alex sighed. Like the saying goes, a lion won't be taunted by mice. He has tolerated them for half year. They're just small ignorance people; no need to find trouble with them.

Suddenly, he remembered that right now, he was not a lion; he was pretending to be a mouse.

What's the problem with mice biting each other?

Anyway, he had grown fed up with them, and he was going to resign. When would be a better time for him to seek revenge if not now?

"All of you Ugor dick suckers,” Alex finally said. “I bet your wives and girlfriends have also tasted by Ugor."

All his colleagues were shocked because Alex was typically the type to remain silent and swallow insults. This was why they enjoyed insulting him.

What made him speak out now? Did he finally snap?

"Oops. Sorry, I just remember all of you were the one sucking Ugor's small decaying dick."

"You bastard," Jack, feeling insulted, came forward to hit Alex.

Alex quickly evaded and struck his face hardly.

“Everyone, attack him!” Yelled Lucas the senior manager, but Alex laughingly hit and kicked him and everyone who tried to attack him.

“What are all of you doing here!” Suddenly, a loud voice echoed as the door swung open.

The general manager, Luster, walked in, his face seething with anger. His cheap perfume wafted through the air, almost making one want to gag.

He saw the room was in the chaos. Some people were lying on the ground, groaning in pain.

“Has this place already turned into an arena?” Luster shouted. “You’re all on paid time, yet you’ve been gossiping and fighting. Do you have any idea how much money I’ve lost because of this?”

He glared at Alex, “So, are you the one who cause it?”

“Yes, General Manager,” Jack added quickly. “He came here to disturb our work.”

“He’s the troublemaker.”

“We tried to show our sympathy to Alex’s divorce, but he hit us,” said Lucas with red bruise on his face.

Luster, looking at Alex, decreed, “You won’t receive last month's salary until you kneel and beg forgiveness from me and everyone else here. What do you think this place is?”

“Not your fucking place for sure, asshole!” Alex replied to Ugor’s father. He also had enough with this man.
