6: A Billionaire Overnight (II)

Liam drew in a deep breath at this, because everything was starting to align. His mother made both he and Emily suffer because she didn't want them to be taken away from her by the wealthiest man in Texas. But she was selfish and insensitive on the contrary, because she was fed up with life and committed suicide without telling him and his sister about their real identity.

Liam couldn't believe his real father was Brandon Price. It was just insane.

"How did you even find me?" Liam queried with his eyes lowered in curiosity.

"You were running out of an employee’s house just yesterday evening. It was there I saw you, I couldn’t even believe it. I then did my own findings about your from the servants and was told you worked as a gardener," Gibson informed him.

Liam clenched his jaw and nodded.

"So this man..my father, you said he's dead?"

"Yes. He was on his sick bed when he implored me to find you and your twin. He left a private will with me. Specially meant for you and your sister as you're both his first children."

"It just doesn't matter anymore," Liam turned his back to Gibson as he uttered this.

"What do you mean?" The butler was curious.

"If Brandon Price is truly my father as you claim, then you came late because my sister is dead. She died two days ago, there was no money for her heart transplant."

Gibson facepalmed and sighed at the news.

“And I thought she was away.”

“Oh, she is. Away from the living. Six feet down and covered in mud.”

"It's all my fault, I came late."

"If there's anyone one to be blamed, then it should be my mother."

"I am so sorry for your loss, Master Liam," Gibson bowed his head in sadness upon sensing Liam's distress.

"No need. Feeling remorseful wouldn't bring her back," Liam heaved deeply and thought about Emily's delicate face, "at least she's not alive to suffer anymore. She's found a better place of rest than this cruel world."

Liam let a few seconds of silence run by before turning to face Gibson once more.

"Who owns this place?"

"You, master Liam. It's one of the properties he left in your name. Then there's more houses in this city, Paris, Morocco, London, New York, Los Angeles..er, I still think I'd need to go through the will once more." Gibson provided.

Liam just pinched himself to see if this was actually happening or if he was hallucinating.

"Let's go in so I can give you a clear statement of the will, shall we, Master Liam?"

***

"Two private jets, owner of his car brands, real estate companies, hospitals, and banks all over the world.."

"Wait," Liam interrupted Gibson from where he was seated, and then he ran his fingers through his hair.

"Ah, I can feel my migraine returning.." he looked at the room's coved ceiling.

"And two hundred billion dollars which he left. Sixty percent of the money was supposed to be yours and forty for your sister, but she's gone to rest. So all the two hundred billion dollars and her own properties goes to you."

Liam was lost for words at this, his heart was threatening to burst wide open from his chest. It was just too much to take in that he felt suffocated.

The butler, Gibson went over to Liam's side with a tab and began showing him his properties.

"Someone come help!" Gibson bellowed at top of his lungs and the servants rushed into the room in fear.

On the cold floor was Liam who just passed out from hearing the will Gibson just read to him.

They revived him with sprinkles of water a few minutes later.

"Was I dreaming?" Liam inquired whilst sitting upright.

"No, you weren't," Gibson shook his head and grabbed Liam by the shoulders, "there's still more that I haven't even told you,"

"Young master, do not faint again," Gibson pleaded because Liam's eyes rolled in their sockets.

The servants did their best to keep him up, shoving varieties of food and wine in his mouth, blowing him with huge hand fans because he was drenched from perspiring.

But nothing worked so they took him to the balcony so he could breathe in natural air.

Although Liam was fine, he sort of appeared half-sane because he was still repeating the words of Gibson in his head.

Who would have thought he was Brandon Price's first son? With such cumulative wealth? It was highly stimulating to his senses, like drugs no rehab could fix.

But then a dull pain spread through Liam's chest when his mind drifted over to Emily. She hadn't lived to hear the life-changing news. And now all her inheritance would be passed over to him because she was dead.

"Young master Liam," Gibson sat beside him and sighed, "I know you feel sad about claiming your sister's inheritance, but it's all yours since she's no more."

"Emily suffered a lot," Liam was already in tears as he looked at the butler, "I can still remember how she always ate very little and kept the largest portion of meal for me because she felt I was overworking. She stayed up at nights to knit me a cardigan and head warmer during winter. She was very considerate. Cried with me whenever I was hurting."

"Well, Master Liam, your sister sounds like someone who always wanted the best for you. So it's best you claim all of the inheritance and start a fresh life. There's so much out there in the world for you," Gibson told Liam.

And Liam nodded slowly because it was a thoughtful thing.

"There's no time to waste, Master Liam. You need to own up to your inheritance as fast as possible. So much needs to be done," Gibson stood up and bowed at Liam.

"What's left?" Liam looked at the butler.

"Your father's funeral is in a few days. It is a must that you should be present, now that you've been found. You're his first son, the world needs to know you."
