37 Facing Humiliation

Ronnie's face turned bright red when Marcel reminded him of the challenge.

"You doubt this company's ability?" asked Ciko angrily. "Who do you think you are!"

As he said that, Ciko observed Marcel and realized that his brother-in-law's appearance had changed considerably.

Marcel, who used to wear a collared shirt typical of the uniform of the shop where he worked, was now wearing a formal suit like himself, with a silver watch around his wrist.

Ciko, who likes to collect watches, clearly knew that the watch Marcel was wearing wasn't cheap.

"You've been promoted," Ciko commented sarcastically. "Director of the shop?"

Ronnie snorted with suppressed laughter.

"I see," Marcel said calmly. "So what do you say, are you brave enough?"

"I'm not willing to bow down at your feet, unclean." Ciko scoffed, and Ronnie was astonished that Marcel could still take the insult in stride.
