36 The Price I Have to Pay

A few hours after that, Marcel came back to his father-in-law's core house. Predictably, Herman was furious with the decision Marcel had made.

"You intend to destroy our agreement, huh?" Herman asked angrily.

"Our agreement is already broken, that's why I can no longer bear to stay with Shirley." Marcel commented calmly.

"So why did you leave this house, why?" Herman asked.

"Shirley is cheating on me," Marcel replied briefly.

Herman frowned in disbelief.

"Come back now, this agreement can still be fixed." He said firmly. "Don't complicate your life anymore."

"I'm just here to tell you that I'm going to find the funds to pay the debt," Marcel said simply. "So you don't have to force me and Shirley's marriage anymore."

Herman exhaled loudly.

"You think it's that easy?" he snapped. "Never mind, you'd better go to Shirley and apologize now."

Marcel shook his head firmly.

"I'll prove it to Dad," he said flatly, after which he excused himself to leave Herman's core house.
