"Enough of the scrawny looks on our faces. They would think they had an effect on us if we keep on like this." Lydia sighed, as she rubbed Jack's back.

"She's right. We can't keep giving them that satisfaction." Ethan said to the group.

"What are we doing standing around here? Let's get the dance floor lit." Sarah said, trying to lift the mood and turn their frowns to a smile.

Sarah pulled Ethan to the dance floor with her and soon enough, Jack and Lydia joined them.

While on the dance floor, two of their colleagues begun whispering,

"I heard Ethan and Sarah want to run for homecoming king and queen against Melissa and Jason."

"Ethan and Sarah are just wannabees. They would never match up to Melissa and Jason."

"Right!!! I wonder what I was thinking when I almost walked over to Ethan to talk to him when he walked in here looking like some charming prince."

"You forgot that he was the pauper that was kissing Melissa's ass back in the day."
