But as soon as Adina said that, she let out a sharp cry and Ron noticed that she had begun to sweat profusely, which was not good. She ingested a high quantity of the poison and it could lead to significant damage.

He moved closer to the back door and touched her stomach without warning. She immediately jerked at the feel of his touch on her skin, as if it had been too cold and intense for her warmth.

Her lips worked to protest against his touch, but she couldn’t find the words. His hands on her body had brought her some semblance of relief.

“The poison is still circulating, but if we don’t act now, it might cause further damage,” Ron told her.

He bunched up her blouson top, exposing her stomach. Ron pulled out the pins in his back pocket and started performing acupuncture. Adina immediately began to relax.

To her surprise, the striking pain subsided and she had gotten herself again. Adina sucked in a deep breath.

“Oh, heavens, I really need a shower,” she mumbled.
