Keith was confused, what matters does a common man like himself have to do with a noble man like Warden?

Why would a councilman spend time watching him either way?

"What business does a commoner have with a nobleman? I don't seem to understand why you would claim to know a lot about me" Keith asked

"Take a seat son. It's a really like long talk we've got on our hands" Warden said

Keith eyes the seat in suspicion and soon his gaze went back to the garden where Elinor was staring at the beautiful maiden as though she was the only precious thing in the world…

When did he leave in the first place?

Keith wanted to tell this maiden what a weird man she was getting involved with…

The type to mask his face and ride a horse at night. He could be an assassin for goodness sake! Not to mention his guts!

Keith soon joins Warden and takes a seat on the chair by the pond.

"Tea?" Warden asked, gesturing at the small table beside him that held a teacup and cups..

"I would like to hear what you have to say and drinking tea is not a part of it" Keith said.

He was sincerely not a lover of council men and sitting with one was as annoying as it could get!

"If you say so"

Warden helps himself with a cup and takes a sip as Keith felt his patience gradually slipping out of control…

"What is your take on the royal family?" He asked

Keith chuckled, did this man call him here just to ask such a question?

Keith knew that this man could have him reported to the royal family and place his family in danger if he dared to utter bad words about the crown!

"Edward killed my sister. I want his head on a pike!"

Warden nodds in understanding, he could totally understand Keith's fustration..

"You know, sometimes we want things that we don't have. The moment in life where our weaknesses are open to the world, we get really upset and force things that we don't have…"

The Masters sips his tea quietly. Keith overlooks the fish pond in silence.

There was something sooathing about his words that made him want to listen…

"I understand your pain but if you would have it another way, would you want to kill him?"

"I wouldn't have it another way. I want him dead. You either help me or you stay out of my plan!"

The master spares Keith a glance, wondering if his questions will come out wrong…

"Keith, do you know what it takes to kill a man?" The Master asked

For the first time, Keith went completely silent.

He had never run a sword through a man's heart before. Yes, he had done very terrible damages in the past but never had he gone as far as ending their lives…

"It takes a killer to kill and from what I have seen and learnt about you my boy….You do not fall in with those type of people"

Keith looked annoyed, his fist balled in anger. What is this old man driving at?

"You don't have to always get even. The phase, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth….it doesn't necessarily have to be that way."

There are a million and one ways to make a man live like he's dead…

"I wouldn't have it any other way. If there's anyone that needs to stop the prince, it certainly has to be me"

"You have no idea how much damage this man has done and you…. you are trying to tell me to let fate take its course…"

Many times in his life, he had been told to let fate tske its course but that has never done him any good!

Warden bursts into laughter, finding Keith somewhat ridiculous.

"I don't believe in letting fate take its course Keith. I believe in making them suffer so much, they wish death would take them away…"

Keith exhaled sharply, he had misunderstood the old nan all along. He was against his method of revenge and wanted him to consider something far more deadly…

"Your brother and mother can't stay in this town. It would be risky to have them around while qe execute this plan…" Warden offered

"I prepared a place for them to stay in another town. It's safer there and my men will be watching them always"

Keith nods in agreement as he wonders if he should ask the question on his mind.

"Why do you want to help me?"

Warden was silent, clearly in deep thoughts.

"Maybe I am tired of the prince's tyrance and I want it to end like you do"

"That is not the whole truth is it?"

Warden smiled "Sooner or later, you will realise why I want to help you…" Warden offered

"You'll be staying here for a while and Ellinor is going to train you on swordsmanship. If you are going to face the crown prince, you must be able to use the sword flawlessly…"

Anx maybe access your god-given abilities….Warden muttered

Keith nods in understanding knowing this is the price he get what he wanted…

"You'll be staying here during your training and your dedication is going to show me how badly you want this…"

Keith was more than ready to show him that he wanted this more than his life!

"Will you be telling your family goodbye?"

He knew he was the last person they wanted to see so he shook his head..

"Very well. We proceed once they are safe"

Keith's eyes wander towards the garden and his gazes landed on Ellinor and the maiden from earlier.

He needed not to be told that the beautiful maiden was Warden's daughter. She sends a smile his way and Keith catches Elinor's death stare.

Keith imagined Elinor pushing him down a mountain with a rope to his neck….

No! That was horrifying!

Keith turned away immediately, not bothering to look back just for a moment for the fear of having Elinor chop his head off…

It wasn't his fault he was such a beautiful man was it?!
