Fate was such a cruel mistress. While it might have been merciful in some aspects of her life, Fate had also taken much in terms of her own safety and relative sense of self. Kelvin always believed that her lot in life was set in stone; that if the Lady Flame wasn't able to break the chains of her fate, then so would she with her infinitely weaker power and standing. It was already a miracle that Fate deemed it proper that she be bestowed with the title of Prime at such a young age, let alone be this powerful in the first place despite not truly working for it as much as what she saw in others. In hindsight, it only reinforced her belief that it was simply impossible for those not in Fate's favor to succeed in life. Why else would their hard work be pointless while others were being born destined for greatness?
