The night seemed to stretch on even further as I heard Lace say her piece. In front of me, the illuminated stretch of white and brown kept me from fully turning my head to see my co-driver speak. The moon hung high up in the sky; shining a dim light on what's beyond Love's ever-bright range. The trees were getting sparser, at least; the environment somehow becoming less mountainous and plainer the further down we got.

 

With a breath, I listened intently as Lace spoke. She held a somber tone, one that was getting more and more used as time went on. "As you all might know, Lace and I are twins.
