Opening the first door, I expected a lot of things. An enemy contingent. A possible stray guard. Even a lowly servant innocently doing their rounds. We had little to no information after this. We'll be literally winging the entire thing from this point forward. I held a breath as the ornate door slowly creaked open, revealing the same gaudy interior of the main lobby simply copy and pasted into what looked like a hallway. Peeking my head out from side to side, the seemingly endless corridor seemed to be empty, which prompted me to let out a small sigh of relief.

What? It was perfectly normal to be afraid whenever you're sneaking into what amounts to the fucking Pentagon or White House in this world.

I went through first, fully opening the door for the others, "C'mon..."
