It had already been a few hours since we had set up camp in the middle of the forest. Love had been at it with her usual rounds while Lace and I held our ground on our camp. And now, here was Love bringing in bad tidings in terms of shitty news.

"Unfortunately," Love relayed with the same clinical coldness that she usually sported. "Judging from their patrol patterns, they seem to be looking for something."

"For us, you mean," I sighed, placing a hand on my head in frustration. "Who else would they be looking for?"
