Thank God I asked Lace to give me a refresher course on basic smithing techniques.

Livia, for all of her genius and natural intuition, still insisted that I check up on everything she did despite her work being up to par, if not even better than what I could make even during my prime. On some parts of it, especially during the curing and tempering process, I actually even had to turn around just so Livia wouldn't see my face grimacing as I wracked my brain for answers. This was fucking horrific. Father would skin me alive if he was... well... alive.

"Sis?"

I raised my head from my own thoughts as I took a look at Livia's attempt at blade number two. Her first blade was already runed up on the table, only awaiting its future twin to be born to test out if they'd even work together.
