Closing my eyes for the final time, I felt myself hit the ground with a staggering thud. Although, my body felt like I was still floating in the air; held up by someone, or something, by the back and knees all bridal style-like.

This was different. It wasn't the old black void of darkness floating in space kind of afterlife. Granted, I wasn't opening my eyes yet, and I could still somehow feel the cold wind smacking on my face. Maybe this was hell? It would explain the chilling temperatures, at least.
