The day had turned into night. Tian Fan prepared himself once more, after spending the entire day tending to the wounds and looking after the pack of beast wolves. Tonight, Tian Fan had planned to administer the final treatment to Xi Shi and Sun Li.
But before starting to treat them both, Tian Fan set up a makeshift partition between Sun Li's bed and Xi Shi's bed.
After creating this rudimentary partition, constructed from wood and beast skin taken from his storage pouch, Tian Fan placed it between Sun Li and Xi Shi's beds.
Sun Li asked, "Little Fan, what are you going to do?"
Tian Fan replied, "Senior, I will perform the final treatment for Senior Li and Senior Shi."
Sun Li understood Tian Fan's intention in placing the partition between them.
Tian Fan continued, "Senior, I will start with you, Senior Li."
Sun Li nodded, and Tian Fan proceeded to examine Sun Li's wounds one by one. He reapplied his homemade salve to the still slightly wet wounds, while for the dried ones, he applied a powder that caused the dead skin tissue to peel away. He also applied another ointment to fade the scars left by the wounds.
Tian Fan then removed all the acupuncture needles from Sun Li's body.
Tian Fan said, "Senior, please try to sit up, and take these pills. Then continue your cultivation for internal healing."
Sun Li followed Tian Fan's instructions, took the black and red pills, and felt a spreading warmth throughout his body. He immediately started cultivating and circulated the heat that had arisen throughout his body.

Tian Fan was so focused on each movement that he didn't realize Xi Shi was starting to open her eyes.
Xi Shi, slowly regaining consciousness, looked around with her eyes darting in all directions. She saw the young man who was concentrating on her abdomen, holding needles and thread.
But a split second later, her eyes widened when she realized she wasn't wearing any clothing, only some pieces of animal skin covering her intimate areas and thighs.
Xi Shi wanted to scream and move, but everything she attempted seemed to fail. Her body and voice appeared to be locked.
Xi Shi saw the young man now focusing on her left leg. He removed several needles from her abdomen and reinserted them into various parts of her left leg.
Xi Shi saw the young man lift her leg high into the air and release something that had been attached to the back of her thigh. Xi Shi didn't feel pain but a ticklish sensation, as if many ants were biting her thigh.

A sound escaped Xi Shi's mouth, surprising Tian Fan, who looked in her direction.
Tian Fan then stopped what he was doing and lowered Xi Shi's left leg, which he had been treating.
Tian Fan smiled at Xi Shi and said, "Senior Shi, it seems you've regained consciousness?"
Xi Shi only stared sharply at Tian Fan, her face turning bright red.
Tian Fan continued, "Senior Shi, please don't misunderstand. This junior is simply treating senior."
He then inserted a few acupuncture needles into Xi Shi's neck and chest. Seeing Tian Fan's intentions, Xi Shi widened her eyes even more. However, Tian Fan, unaware of her true thoughts, interpreted her wide-eyed look differently.
