Chapter five

“Your time is almost up, buddy…. This place isn't cleared yet!” Miller said coldly to Dustin.

Though the place was filled with wealthy men, of the same caliber as the mafia lord, none of them dared look Miller in the eyes. At least not after what they all just witnessed.

“Get out… get out…. All of you! Leave this minute!” Dustin yelled out coldly at the customers who were still sitting and watching.

Most of them left, and the ones who were brave to stay started packing their bags immediately. They were terrified at what they saw, but most of them had ordered wines worth a million, even if they wanted to stay behind and have them, then had to run for their dear lives.

“I think he was hit by lightning.”

“It was beyond human imagination….”

Miller heard the customers whimpering as they ran out. In less than 51 seconds, the place was clear and quiet.

One of the hefty men snapped his fingers and a tall fair lady walked up to Miller's table, her head facing the ground. “Welcome…to the Montenegros… what would you like to have for lunch….” She stammered, “Sorry… what meal would you like to have?”

“Turkey wings, salad and veggies…” Aliyah was quick to say, causing Miller and Mira to smile.

“And you, sir?” The lady turned to Miller.

“Megan? Place your order.” Miller said to his wife first.

Megan, who had a displeased look, replied, “I'd have the same thing with my daughter.”

“Me too.” Mira chimed in.

“I'm fine. Just bring theirs.” Miller said dismissively to the lady then she timidly walked away.

“Daddy, you did great. I love it, and I love you more!” Aliyah giggled at her father for putting the Mafia Lord in his place.

“I didn't scare you?” Miller asked.

“Hmmm… you did.” She replied.

“She'll be six in two months…. Don't get her scared next time….” Megan forced a smile.

“Aliyah, daddy wouldn't scare you ever again, okay? Those people are bad people, so daddy was just putting them in their place.” Miller smiled at her then she nodded.

To him, killing was just a piece of cake for him. He was the General and first in command in the army, killing was part of living. But he understands Megan.

“Hmmm. It smells really good.” Aliyah giggled as the server brought their food and gently placed it on the table.

-

“They're back here… that's my dad's car.” Megan pointed as they walked into the place.

They had first gone to the house where Megan stayed with her father and mother but the place was empty and their stuff was gone. More like they moved out.

“Let's go in.” Megan said, carrying Aliyah in her hands.

“Your grandparents own a Maybach?” Miller asked, his gaze fixated on the stunning car at the garage. When he arrived in the morning, even when leaving with Aliyah, he never saw that car.

“No, not at all. My grandparents don't own such. I'm sure it could be for one of their associates.” Megan explained as they got to the entrance of the mansion. Just then, Megan excused herself as her phone started ringing, “Give me a minute,” she said to him and he nodded.

Christina, the grandma of the Grant family's voice could be heard right from the living room, “Once the death certificate is over, I promise, my granddaughter is all yours. Six years is enough to wait and we are all certain that the bastard is long dead.”

“Yes, Mr. Rowland. My daughter is set and ready for marriage…” Eleanor, Megan's mom chimed in.

“Oh, that's excellent.” Rowland James smiled, “The most Important thing is Megan is my wife. We only need her signature on our marriage certificate. The rest is history…” he shrugged, “Once she accepts, we can organize a big event to celebrate it. First, we need her to sign it.”

“Leave that to me, my inlaw. She'd sign on it as soon as she's back. That's why we are here.” Eleanor said with a satisfied expression.

“Keep your mind at rest… I will make sure she does.” Levi, Megan's father added.

“I'm afraid she has been resisting me. She's bent on not accepting.” James explained, worry etched on his face. “Even when I promised her the world, she didn't agree to my offer of getting rid of her pregnancy.”

“We can only blame that on that son of a bitch… that poor driver for forcing himself on my daughter and getting her pregnant before abandoning her for the army.” Eleanor cried.

“Uh… sincerely, I love your daughter a lot. And just a ‘Yes’ from her will be the best thing to happen to this family. Money will be the least of your worries.” James had a smirk on his face as he handed a package to Eleanor.

“Please accept this... These are the keys to the white Benz pack outside the gate. This is just the beginning of many cars, jewelries and houses this family will acquire once Megan says yes.”

Meanwhile, Miller had heard their entire conversation. Though he was pissed and his face was red with anger, he tried to hide it as Megan arrived in front of him and knocked on the door.

“Get the door… who's it?” Levi told the maid who immediately opened the door.

“Mum, Dad.” Megan went over to her parents with a smile.

“Who's that? And why is he carrying little Aliyah?” Levi asked, glaring at the young man who walked in along with their daughter.

Christina added, “That's right…. Don't tell us you've employed a new bodyguard.”

“This is my daddy, granny….” Aliyah announced with a smile.

They all turned to face Miller with their mouths wide open. Christina was quick to ask, “Your daughter is hallucinating, right? We know Miller is long dead.”

“That's Miller, grandma. My husband was never dead.” Megan revealed.

Eleanor froze at the spot. She expected a lot, not a dead man being alive. “What a shameless asshole! You've got gut showing your hideous face here after raping my daughter!”

“He didn't rape me mum.” Megan corrected and took Aliyah upstairs. She wouldn’t want her daughter hearing such from her grandparents.

“I don't care! But this fool here will have to compensate this family for the shame he has caused us throughout these past few days. The embarrassment of getting you pregnant was enough humiliation!” Eleanor roared breathlessly.

From nowhere, Levi bounced on Miller, “You bastard!” He slapped and grabbing his neck, “Good thing you're not dead yet. It's best you free my daughter and divorce her for the sake of the pain and humiliation you've caused this family! I'm sure if not for raping her…. She would have been that successful doctor she always wanted to be!” Levi roared at Miller.

Miller had a disappointed look. He didn't realize their once wealthy family had lost its respect because of him. It wasn't his fault as Megan had made the first move to undress and get on top of him. He was also drunk that night and couldn't resist the urge.

He understands where the hatred was coming from.

“Now more than ever, I wish your death wasn't just a rumor! Why are you here? To continue what you started?!” Christina shouted from her seat.

“I'm sorry… you have to relax.” Miller tried to calm them down. “Grandma… sir, ma… I sincerely apologize for the humiliation my foolish act had caused this family. I promise to make amends; I am here now… I'd right my wrongs. Just give me a chance to prove that to you.”

“Your six years of disappearance were enough time but you blew it! Now get out of my house!” Christina ordered, her voice cold.

“Before he does that… he has to do the needful. So I can have my wife.” James said immediately, turning to Christina, “Why not have him divorce Megan this minute, he takes Aliyah, his child with him. Then Megan is free to be with me.”

He wasn't willing to have the little girl around, worrying his wife when she can always be with her daddy, rather than disturbing them.

“And who the fuck are you?” Miller asked James with a frown.
