Chapter six

“Your replacement! - now that you've said that, James… I agree…. He can take his ‘Mistake’ of a daughter along with him after doing the needful!” Levi thundered.

Miller's hand formed a fist upon hearing those words. It seems, ‘Mistake' was the title given to his little daughter by the Grant family. The urge to make them regret their actions filled him but he hid those feelings and tried to be civil with his in-laws. They were still Aliyah’s grandparents.

“Hahaha! I trust you, uncle. I wouldn't be needing a ‘Mistake' in my house.” James mocked.

Miller frowned and turned to James with a stern look, “If you value your tongue, you better tie it! The respect I have for my inlaws are the reason you're still breathing. Keep my daughter out of that trash hole in your face!”

“Haha! It seems the army has given you the audacity to talk back! Do you know who is sitting before you?” James scoffed, “You’re a nobody compared to my status. Did you see the Maybach outside? Even if you were to be sold…. You can't afford the back tire! Not in your miserable life.”

“You heard him, Miller! Get your bastard and get out of our house!” Eleanor shouted. “Leave my daughter alone!”

“I'm sorry but I can't, mother… Megan is my lawfully wedded wife, and not until she willingly agrees to divorce me, I'm not signing any papers or leaving her for a poor moron!” Miller utter, staring at James.

James laughed, “Me? Poor? Hahaha! Are trying to be ironic…. Because we all know who the poor moran here is… you're nothing compared to me, Miller….” James mocked, walking close to Miller. “You ooze off a stinky broke rat…”

Bang!

“Woah!” They all stared in disbelief as Miller sent James flying back to the chair like he weighed nothing.

His face turned pale and the corner of his mouth started bleeding, “Fuck.” James cursed as his mouth felt heavy due to the kick.

“Motherfucker! You must have a death wish to have hit me! Do you have any idea who I am?!” James snapped.

He knew Miller had just returned from the battlefield and his strength was a no match for a retired army. But still, he was going to make him pay!

“Are you nuts? Miller! You dare lay your hands on the young master of the Rowland family? Are you tired of living?” Christina shouted.

“I don't give two fucks who he is. As I'm going to put him in his place for saying such things about my child! Mind you! My daughter is not a mistake!” Miller was pissed.

“One text to my men, you're dead!” James announced.

“I could help you send the text if you want! You can send a million texts! I don't give a shit!”

“Megan!” Eleanor sighed as she saw her daughter walking up to them, “Come honey, it's about time you did the needful… Sign the papers, now.” She cried, “James is the young master of the Rowland family…. See..” She showed Megan the car keys James had given her, “He presented a Benz to me a few minutes ago…. He also promised that this is just the beginning; if only you'd accept his offer. We've moved back here, thanks to him… Don't blow this up.”

Megan shook her head, “Mum, I sincerely can't…. Though my husband is poor, he's still the one I got married to. And i can't have little Aliyah grow without a complete family. She needs Miller and I in her life.” She objected.

Levi had a visible frown on his face, “You'd rather have a monster for a husband? Look at what he did to James!” He pointed at James' swollen lips.

Megan glared at him before turning to Miller in anger, “Did you punch him?! Why! Why are you always bent on causing trouble? Do you know who he is?”

“I can handle this, Megan.” Miller replied.

“Oh, you wanna hit him again? Kneel and apologize to him immediately!” Christina added, her voice cold.

“No, granny - Miller just apologize, please.” Megan said to him. She knew James was the heir of the Rowland family and their properties. He was no ordinary person, plus he was very respected in the society due to how powerful his family was in the country. “You've gotten yourself a huge mess, if this escalates. I promise it's a you-problem if he's provoked.” Megan had a worried look, glaring at James bloody lips.

“It escalated already. I don't need an apology from him. My assistant had gotten Dustin Brown to come take him away.” James said with so much pride.

Miller chuckled, “Dustin Brown?” He couldn't help but laugh. Wasn't that the same person who berated him along with his boss at the restaurant an hour ago?

Was a shocking coincidence.

Miller grinned as he heard James mocking laughter.

“Hahaha…. I'm sure a penniless dog like you hasn't heard that name before. Mr. Brown is close to my papa. In fact, he's the best martial arts expert my dad has introduced to me. Don't tell me you're trembling! Hahaha! You must be a fool to think that because you're a retired army, you're above everyone else! Dustin kills with just a snap of his fingers. I have witnessed countless people die before him! So, consider today, your end!”

Megan almost knelt in front of James, “Calling a notorious killer to come take him away wouldn't end well. I know he's a fool, but killing him isn't the best. Have mercy on him Mr. Rowland.” She pleaded.

“I wouldn't be able to eat properly for days because of what he had done on my lips. Pleading on his behalf is pointless…. He has to pay for what he has done.”

James had a displeased look as he glared at Miller then back to Megan, “I could have a change of heart on one condition. You accept to be my wife, divorce him and let's go home right here and now.”

“Yes!”

“I agree!”

The Grants chime in.

“Mr. Rowland, you're very successful and with how powerful your family is, you can get the most sophisticated lady in Fox River. Why choose someone who's already married?”

James shrugged, “Don't let your husband stop you from getting married to your actual husband, which is me. You are what I want… but it's okay if you can't accept it… but this fool right here–” He pointed at Miller, “Is going to go down six feet today!”

“It's actually the other way round, James. Who would you like to dig your grave… me or you'd love to do that yourself?” Miller mocked.

“Tough, huh? We'll see about that in less than 2 minutes from now.” James remarked. Miller would surely plead for mercy by the time he's done.

Just then, they all heard the sound of different cars driving into the place. Megan had a worried look, but the rest of the Grant family were pleased with this.

Miller on the other hand had opened the door and gotten outside.

“Pussy! Don't tell me you're running away like the coward that you are!” James ran outside as he noticed Miller was trying to escape, when In reality, Miller just wanted to see these man James claimed would kill him.

Dustin and a few other dangerous-looking men got out of their cars, “We got your message, young master! - Show yourself! You've signed your death certificate the moment you chose to lay your hands on the young master!”

Miller crossed his hand over his chest with a smug look as he watched their whole charade.

Dustin caught sight of his boss then he gently limed over to him. He was in the clinic treating his wounds and when he took Mr. Montenegro’s body to the morgue, he got a call from the Rowland family to come here and deal with the bastard who hit the young master.

James pointed at Miller who stood next to him, “Here is the son of a bitch…. Make sure his remains are unrecognizable!” He demanded in anger. He got his confidence back as soon as Dustin and his men got in front of them.

“Bastard! You've got the guts….” Dustin had raised his butcha knife and was ready to strike when his eyes came in contact with the outfit this person was putting on.

Quickly, he raised his head. Lo and behold, he recognized the face. He paused, taking a few steps back, the pain from the kick he got started reoccurring like he was hit again just by seeing the man.

Then his sweat started rolling down his forehead.

“It's indeed a small world, Dustin…. How coincidental.” Miller smiled, glaring at Dustin's red swollen face.

Though Dustin had a face cap on, Miller knew it was him.

The Grants turned to look at each other with a confused look while James gritted his teeth the moment he saw Dustin retreating. “Small world? Dustin, what's he talking about? Do you know him?”

Dustin swallowed hard, as he recalled Mr. Montenegro's lifeless body. “Boss? I just got a call. Your dad needs me somewhere else. Your attention is needed there as well.” Dustin explained, moving further away from where they were.

“Come back! Dustin! Deal with this fucker now!” James roared, ignoring Dustin's indication for them to leave. “Shoot him! Inflict pains on him! Kill him if you must but he must pay!” James yelled out loud.

“Isn't he the one who killed the Mafia Lord?” One of Dustin's men whispered.

Dustin nodded, “Yes.” He almost cried.

Bang!

“Ahh!” James whimpered as Miller moved close and hit him hard on his nose, causing him to collapse.

Bang!

“Fuck! Dustin… do something!” James cried as Miller raised his legs and kept hitting his stomach until he couldn't take it anymore. It felt as though he was being hit by a rock.

“We are sorry young master.” Dustin said, worry etched on his face. His boss might die if Miller doesn't stop.

“Fuck…” James cried, “Sorry? Fucking stop him! Don't… ah…don't just… watch him…. Do you want me dead? Fuck…ahhh..ahhh…argh…”
