[Earn money for your first date in five minutes!]

The system’s voice rang in his mind.

“Five minutes?” Jake was very surprised to hear this message. “Are you joking?”

[Failure in doing so will cause you to lose your pubic hair permanently!]

Jake was stunned so he felt pain in his pelvis region. At first he was shocked, but then he thought, “Wait, isn’t losing pubic hair a good thing?”

[Do chickens look beautiful when they have feathers or when they don’t?]

The system asked him a simple question.

Jake slowly but surely frowned. “I see. A feathered chicken and a hairy man are one and the same.”

A few seconds passed.

“But how the heck am I supposed to earn the money in five minutes? Do you want me to beg on the street or what?” Jake yelled at the system in his mind. “When you give me such a mission, you should give me some hints, too. Help me a little, or I don’t require you at all!”

Jake’s reverse threatening tactic worked.

[Use me.]

The system replied with two simple words.

“Use you?” J

The waiter brought a burger and a sandwich.“Wait,” Jake immediately said, stopping the waiter who was walking away.Jake pulled out something from a burger. It was a long strand of hair, which startled the waiter.“I’m so sorry, sir,” the waiter quickly apologized.“Bring me another burger,” Jake said, picking up the burger on the table and throwing it perfectly into the distant dustbin.“O-Okay,” the waiter hurriedly left.“You still want to eat here after seeing that hair?” Anne hissed. “Let’s just leave.”“C’mon. Have you never seen hair in home made food?” Jake replied casually. “It happens every now and then, so it’s no big deal.” He pushed the sandwich toward her.“Ugh,” Instead of eating, she kept scrutinizing it, looking to see if there were any hairs, which made Jake chuckle.Soon, the waiter brought another burger.Jake glanced at it and gave a thumbs up after noticing the extra cheese. “Mm, the extra cheese always helps.”“Thank you,” the waiter was happy that his efforts

“Shane? What are you doing here?” Anne was surprised by his sudden appearance.Shane was a short but decently handsome guy with a messy but cool hairstyle. He looked like he was heading to a part time job, given the uniform he was wearing.Shane snickered as he looked at Jake. “You picked this guy of all people? A baldie? I guess he's quite rich.”Anne frowned, trying to subdue the rising anger within her. “You should mind your own business, Shane.”“Yeah. You dumped me because I wasn’t good enough for you, right?” Shane snorted. “I spent so many days with you, and you threw me out of your life as if I’m a flower.” He looked at Jake. “You shouldn’t trust these women, bro. If you’re looking for a serious relationship, then I suggest that you look for someone else. She’s not worth it. It’s been months since we broke up, but I’m still not able to sleep peacefully. What did I do to deserve this?”Anne gritted her teeth.“It seems women can easily forget the past,” Shane sadly smiled and w

A lot of information suddenly began to fill Jake’s mind.It did not hurt him, but he definitely was a bit out of breath. It felt like his head grew a little heavier.“What’s this…” Jake seemed quite confused.[You know what to do.] The system replied.“Are you serious? You want me to do ‘that’ job?” Jake didn’t like it.[If you do it, then you will be rewarded handsomely.]“Ugh, first tell me the reward. Then I’ll decide whether to do the mission or not,” Jake voiced his mind.[That’s not how it works.]“Tsk, fine,” Jake smiled. (I will just do this job for a couple of days to trick the system into giving me the reward, and then I can quit the job.)Jake then didn’t waste any time.He still had the car keys with him, so he went out in Anne’s car.Donovan was watching this. “He took Anne’s car out,” he clenched his hands. “This guy is utterly shameless. I have to kick him out of this house and out of Anne’s life as fast as possible.”A few minutes later.Jake arrived at a large glassy

“How long will he lose his hair for?” Jake asked the system.[Six months at least, but a year at best.]“Good. That should suffice as a lesson,” Jake thought. The guard came rushing into the building and began to tell the workers what was happening to him. He complained to them while crying.Seeing that, Jake did not even smile. He did not take any pleasure from the suffering of the guard.Maybe, it was because he had already lost all his hair, so he could think from the guard’s perspective.Or maybe, there was some other reason.Either way, Jake did what he wanted and then moved on.He went to the manager’s room and knocked on the door.“Come in,” a voice came from inside.Jake opened the door and entered the room. The manager was serving alcohol to the young lady in a green dress. She was Tessa Blake. She was stunning to say the least. The facial structure, the pretty big eyes, the small face, the medium long hair, the thin neck, and her striking pink lips, all of which were enhance

Later that evening.Jake walked out with 300 dollars in his hand. “For three hours, I got 360 dollars. Not bad. Not bad at all.”“A-level stylist gets 100 dollars per hour, but a B-level stylist gets only thirty dollars. The pay difference is quite big between A and B levels. I wonder how much they will pay for S-level stylists. I was told that the contract with the S-level stylists is kept secret, and that I can only get to that level by proving myself over time.”Jake received 300 dollars for his work, and 60 dollars of tips from the customers, so it wasn’t a bad afternoon for him.On his way home, Jake filled the car with some gasoline. At Anne’s home.Anne came downstairs, yawning.“You were sleeping without even eating lunch,” her sister Verna hissed at her. “Your health will be ruined if you skip meals like that.”“I was tired, sis.”“Why are you so tired? Didn’t you sleep well last night?” Verna asked.Anne was startled because Verna asked such a question when Donovan was also

Later that night.“You still haven’t found him?” Elmond was growing more annoyed with every passing hour. He slapped the head butler. “You should have been more careful. If you had added the sleeping powder like I said, he wouldn’t have escaped.”“Forgive me, Master, but Young Lady specifically told me to not add the sleeping powder or anything in his meals,” the head butler Weber replied, with his head lowered.“Tch, get lost from my face,” Elmond waved his hand angrily. The head butler Weber left.Only the chief captain of Hamilton’s forces was present next to Elmond now.“Why didn’t she let Weber do what I told him to? It feels as if she expected that he would run away.”“Maybe she likes the cat-and-mouse game?” the chief captain opined, leaking out an amused smile.“Stop joking, Drake. If Melvin finds that guy, he’ll make him disappear from the face of the earth,” Elmond said. “I have to find him before the shedding system falls into the wrong hands.”“I checked all the CCTVs arou

The next morning.Anne opened her eyes casually, but then felt something on her chest. Was it Jake’s hand? She immediately sat up. However, it was just a blanket. She looked around. Jake wasn’t in the room. The bathroom door was also open.It was only seven o’clock.“Where did he go so early in the morning?”She walked up to the window and saw Jake in the backyard, pruning vegetable plants with his bare hands. “What the… is he using his fingers as scissors to prune the plants? That’s crazy. Just how much strength does he have in those fingers?”Suddenly, the thought of how she might feel if such a guy were to grab her chest ran through her mind.Anne slapped her cheek a little. “Stop with your dirty thoughts, Anne,” she told herself. “Have some decency. Yesterday night, I was a little harsh with him. We received a million dollars because of him, so I should at least treat him as a guest while he’s here.”Anne went downstairs and prepared coffee in the kitchen and brought it to the bac

Jake arrived at work on a bus. There was a different guard at the entrance now.“It seems the guard from yesterday lost his job,” Jake thought. “It’s expected since he caused a ruckus by fighting the workers.”[As long as he doesn’t apply unnecessary gels on his head, his hair will grow normally.]The system stated.Jake entered the building before nine o’clock. For the first hour, he didn’t have any clients. In the second hour, he worked on four clients and received 130 dollars in tips.He had to wait the third hour.In the fourth hour, he was working on one client who wanted a stylish beard.A new client entered the building and then went to the manager’s room.Jake’s room was right next to the manager’s room because the manager wanted to keep a close eye on him.The manager saw this big client and got up from his seat. “Sir Brendon. At a remote island a few hundred miles away from Salem city.Delma arrived in a helicopter, driving it herself. She jumped out through the front glass and came dashing through the sky like a hawk descending from heaven. As the helicopter crashed and exploded in the background, Delma landed on the rocky ground where Trisha was sitting on a boulder and polishing her nails.Behind her, both Davis and Tessa were tied up together in metal chains. Both of them were badly wounded, and they weren’t conscious, either.“How could you do that to your own sister?” Delma’s jaw hardened.“What are you saying? She pointed her finger at her own sister for the sake of a toad,” Trisha indifferently said. “If I don’t discipline her well now, she will only get worse in time, don’t you think?”Delma didn’t say anything.Trisha clapped twice. Two of her bodyguards rushed over.“Take those two and go to the Blake mansion,” she told them, and they obliged. As the guards took Davis and Tessa away, Delma didn’

I never said I’d introduce you to my brother,” Tessa snorted. “Firstly, you should get a proper haircut. Then, you should look competitive.Do something that makes you stand out.”“Like what?”“I don’t know. Appear on the Forbes front page or something?”“W-What?” Davis’ jaw dropped.“If you can’t even do that much, you think you’re qualified to become a son-in-law of the Blake family?” Tessa snorted even loudly this time. “All our son-in-laws are from prestigious, billionaire families. I don’t want my husband to look cheap and dull before them. So, figure it out yourself.”“H-How can I appear on Forbes?” Davis looked utterly baffled. “I didn’t even appear on my school’s notice board before.”Tessa spared him a cold gla

Tessa took the kite that Davis had made for her, but she ended up losing in the kite competition with Delma. So, she scolded Davis, saying, “I lost because of your kite!”However, Elmond intervened and said, “You lost because your skill was lacking compared to Delma’s. I made the kite for Delma, so I know that the difference was less in the kites and more in the ones flying those kites.”“Grandpa, you are kidding, right?” Tessa snorted.“Yes, sir. The fault was with me,” Davis supported her.Elmond sighed and shook his head. “Women these days go for the swan walk and end up losing the crow-walk they’re born with. Men also lose their masculinity by sucking up to women. It is so shameful to watch.” Saying that he walked away.“Don’t mind his words,” Delma told them. “He’s just a bit frustrated because he lost in a fight with Jake last evening.”“Fight? What fight?” Davis quickly asked.“They were trying to see who can eat more sweet buns,” Delma replied, “and my grandfather lost.”“Oh…”

What a waste.”Jake was startled by her entrance. He was too focused that he didn’t notice her coming. “You were saying something?”“I said, you shouldn’t practice so hard when Delma isn’t watching,” Tessa smirked. “Do it before her so that she’d be impressed.”“I-I w

He answered it.But silence followed.“Hello?” Davis asked. “Who is this?”“I was expecting you to cut the call, but you’re rather patient,” a sweet female voice said from the other side.Davis’ eyes widened as he recognized that voice. “M-Miss Tessa?”It was twelve o’clock at night, so why did she call him at this hour? His heart started pounding regardless if it was to scold him or some other negative reason.“Why did you call me?” Davis cluelessly asked.“I was eating muffins, and I thought it would have been nice if we had muffins at the park,” Tessa replied.“Oh…” Davis didn’t know what to say. Did she really call him to tell just that? “I didn’t know that you liked muffins.”“I used to eat them when I was young,” Tessa replied. “I like the raisins they put in these muffins. They add nice texture to the bread.”“Then… I’ll buy muffins next time we spend time at the park?” Davis hesitantly stated.

Melvyn stopped his car on a cliff and sat on the hood of his car and stared at the stars and the moon.He was not wearing a wig now.In his hands, Jake’s wanted poster was there. The young men who had briefly stopped him at the store looked like complete idiots, but Jake’s face didn’t give him the same impression.“You bought the factory your dad has sold away,” Melvyn uttered. “You’re a good son. You also tried to fight me for the factory. You’re brave, too. I can see why Delma is interested in you.”A few seconds passed.Melvyn released fog through his palm. It turned into a skull-faced fog and flew through the air at incredible speed.Within seconds, it arrived at the Hamilton mansion.Jake, who was in the backyard, looked up at the sky as a massive skull-faced fog came down, seemingly to devour him.Clenching his fist, he threw a punch at it.The fog got dispersed and then it condensed once more behind him, into a much smaller skull-faced fog.“I was doubtful, but now I’m sure tha

If you don’t have faith in yourself, then who will?”For some reason, Jake’s words made him feel better. “Stop teasing me, Bro.”“I ain’t teasing you as much as I’m teasing myself,” Jake chortled.Delma and Elmond were watching them from the balcony.“It doesn’t look like Davis succeeded even after giving the two systems back,” Delma uttered.“I’m not surprised,” Elmond casually said while eating pistachios. “The girls these days are as hypocritical as ever. He swallowed, trying to ignore the knot of anxiety tightening in his stomach. As he wasn’t sure how he should proceed, a group of children from a trust came to them and asked for money.Davis took all the money out of his purse and gave it to them.Tessa, who could have easily written a check for them, chose not to do it as it would downplay what Davis had done.Moments after they left, a group of ladies were passing by, and they approached Davis and Tessa and praised t
