Jake was checking through the rest of the factory if anyone else other than the manager died or not.

But he didn’t find any other corpse.

While he was happy that he saved many people, he was also saddened by the fact that the person he had talked to most among the employees in the past five days died.

Jake returned to the main office. He kept staring at the manager’s corpse. He didn’t know if he should move it outside or not.

As he was hesitating, he suddenly looked around as the flames that were dying began to rise.

“What the hell? Why are the flames rising?” Jake was startled, but then he felt a strong presence in the south, toward the backside of the factory.

Since he got the soul shedding skill, he didn’t feel anything like this.

And this was his first time feeling the soul energy coming from another person, as this was so concentrated.

Without the system telling him, Jake knew that this person was bad news.

Both of them walked toward each other, with Melvyn leaking out a hot aura

That fog is dangerous even for you!” Drake shouted.“I’ll kill you right here and now!” Delma threw a punch at the fog. The sheer air pressure from her punch blew the fog away in different directions. But the thought of Jake shattering away from the collateral damage made her suddenly stop. She grabbed Jake’s body and threw it toward Drake. “Take him to the mansion and get him treated!”“Can he still be saved?” Drake wasn’t sure because Jake looked like a crystal statue now.Delma threw a punch down at Melvyn’s chest, but he caught her fist before it hit him. His other hand was covering his face.“Go away, Delma. I don’t want you to see me like this,” Melvyn said. “I don’t want to see myself like thi

In the right wing of the hamilton’s mansion, the lead doctor and the scientist of the Hamiltons put Jake in a cylindrical vessel full of translucent liquid that bubbled and melted the black scales on his body.“Will he live?” Drake asked.“It’s a miracle that he isn’t already dead,” the doctor replied. “Nothing is guaranteed until he opens his eyes.”“Is that so?” Drake felt a bit down. “If we had reached there a little early, we could have saved him.”“Don’t worry about the past but plan for the future,” Elmond said. “Tighten the security around the mansion, even if it means we have to hire outside forces.”“You think Melvyn will attack this mansion?” Drake wondered. “If he fails, he loses everything. I don’t think he will take that big of a gamble. Unless he’s sure of his victory, he will not attack. Otherwise, he should have attacked us long ago.”At that time, Delma entered the chamber and looked at the glass vessel in which Jake was there.“How’s he doing?” Delma asked.“Nothing

I haven’t laughed this much in a long time.”Davis appeared visibly embarrassed. “Am I not good-looking enough?”“Well, looks alone aren’t enough for some women,” Prisha said. “You should first know her preferences before you approach her. Otherwise, you’d make a fool of yourself. ‘I’m sorry. I have a boyfriend.’ Haha, it’s funny no matter how many times I see women rejecting men with that move.”“Huh, what’s so funny about it?” Davis felt annoyed.“Obviously, she was lying.”“What?” Davis was startled. “You think so?”“Of course. She didn’t even ask you why you called. She assumed it, and then cut you off,” Prisha opined. “She didn’t treat you badly but treated you indifferently. That’s a common approach we us

Both of them were badly wounded, and they weren’t conscious, either.“How could you do that to your own sister?” Delma’s jaw hardened.“What are you saying? She pointed her finger at her own sister for the sake of a toad,” Trisha indifferently said. “If I don’t discipline her well now, she will only get worse in time, don’t you think?”Delma didn’t say anything.Trisha clapped twice. Two of her bodyguards rushed over.“Take those two and go to the Blake mansion,” she told them, and they obliged. As the guards took Davis and Tessa away, Delma didn’

I never said I’d introduce you to my brother,” Tessa snorted. “Firstly, you should get a proper haircut. Then, you should look competitive.Do something that makes you stand out.”“Like what?”“I don’t know. Appear on the Forbes front page or something?”“W-What?” Davis’ jaw dropped.“If you can’t even do that much, you think you’re qualified to become a son-in-law of the Blake family?” Tessa snorted even loudly this time. “All our son-in-laws are from prestigious, billionaire families. I don’t want my husband to look cheap and dull before them. So, figure it out yourself.”“H-How can I appear on Forbes?” Davis looked utterly baffled. “I didn’t even appear on my school’s notice board before.”Tessa spared him a cold gla

I made the kite for Delma, so I know that the difference was less in the kites and more in the ones flying those kites.”“Grandpa, you are kidding, right?” Tessa snorted.“Yes, sir. The fault was with me,” Davis supported her.Elmond sighed and shook his head. “Women these days go for the swan walk and end up losing the crow-walk they’re born with. Men also lose their masculinity by sucking up to women. It is so shameful to watch.” Saying that he walked away.“Don’t mind his words,” Delma told them. “He’s just a bit frustrated because he lost in a fight with Jake last evening.”“Fight? What fight?” Davis quickly asked.“They were trying to see who can eat more sweet buns,” Delma replied, “and my grandfather lost.”“Oh…”

What a waste.”Jake was startled by her entrance. His heart started pounding regardless if it was to scold him or some other negative reason.“Why did you call me?” Davis cluelessly asked.“I was eating muffins, and I thought it would have been nice if we had muffins at the park,” Tessa replied.“Oh…” Davis didn’t know what to say. Did she really call him to tell just that? “I didn’t know that you liked muffins.”“I used to eat them when I was young,” Tessa replied. “I like the raisins they put in these muffins. They add nice texture to the bread.”“Then… I’ll buy muffins next time we spend time at the park?” Davis hesitantly stated.

You also tried to fight me for the factory. You’re brave, too. I can see why Delma is interested in you.”A few seconds passed.Melvyn released fog through his palm. It turned into a skull-faced fog and flew through the air at incredible speed.Within seconds, it arrived at the Hamilton mansion.Jake, who was in the backyard, looked up at the sky as a massive skull-faced fog came down, seemingly to devour him.Clenching his fist, he threw a punch at it.The fog got dispersed and then it condensed once more behind him, into a much smaller skull-faced fog.“I was doubtful, but now I’m sure tha

If you don’t have faith in yourself, then who will?”For some reason, Jake’s words made him feel better. “Stop teasing me, Bro.”“I ain’t teasing you as much as I’m teasing myself,” Jake chortled.Delma and Elmond were watching them from the balcony.“It doesn’t look like Davis succeeded even after giving the two systems back,” Delma uttered.“I’m not surprised,” Elmond casually said while eating pistachios. “The girls these days are as hypocritical as ever.
