Later that night.

Delma, Davis, and Prisha returned home in the Rolls Royce.

Prisha and Davis didn’t look happy as things didn’t go as they expected. Prisha didn’t get the number of a single man.

“Why are these rich young men so stingy?” Prisha snorted. “Why couldn’t they give me their number?”

Davis didn't really care for Prisha right now because he failed to have a successful conversation with Tessa.

Because he was bothering her, Tessa told him to show her how much he could drink. Davis drank too much to carry himself properly, which helped Tessa to mind her own business.

“Don’t think you’ll get everything quickly,” Delma told her. “Getting a boyfriend is not like ordering a pizza and expecting it to be delivered quickly. We are used to ‘instant gratification’ so much these days, and I’m fighting with myself every minute to get slimmer. I wish there was a faster way to instantly get slimmer, but even if I get slim fast, would I be able to appreciate it?”

“Are you suggesting that if

Prisha was talking with her mom. “Mom, I want to pursue higher studies.”Felicia nearly spilled her coffee. “What? What did you say?”“I’m not joking, Mom. I want to go to Harvard and earn a masters degree in psychology,” Prisha responded.“H-Harvard? YOU want to go there? Are you okay in the head?” Felicia began to chek, “Did you suffer any injury?”“No, Mom! I want to build my resume!” Prisha quickly said. “I went to a rich family’s party, and everybody was talking about the great universities they studied at, and the wealthy companies they work at, which made me realize that I should build my portfolio, too.”“Ah-huh. How do you expect me to get you a set in Harvard of all institutes? It’s a tier one university, you know,” Felicia retorted. “I don’t think you can buy your way into their university.”“Hahaha,” Prisha laughed. “It’s not possible for you, but if Delma asks for it, they will surely not dare say no.”Felicia’s expression changed. “I don’t think it’d be pleasant of us to

Is this your way of indirectly asking me to let you keep the system?”“I’m not going to beat around the bush, sir,” Jake responded. “I intend to beat, no, crush Melvyn Blake. Once I’m done with that, I’ll return the hairfall system, I mean, the supreme shedding system to you.”“Mm,” Elmond’s expression still remained neutral. “I can imagine why you want to fight Melvyn Blake, but don’t assume that I will let you fight him if I’m not convinced with your strength. If you challenge Melvyn with half-baked strength, you will only lose and the shedding system will end up in his hands. While he can’t use it unless the shedding system approves him, I still can’t let Melvyn get his hands on the shedding system. It’s too risky.”“I understand. If I’m not up to your standards, you can take the system from me whenever you want,” Jake repli

A few days later.Head Butler Weber came to the Hamilton mansion with many wounded men. Even the maids were covered in bloody wounds.“What happened?” Delma quickly asked Weber.“The first daughter of the Blake family attacked us,” Weber replied. “She could have killed us, but she left us alive to mock us even more.”“Trisha…” Delma’s blood stirred. “She’s itching to be destroyed.”Weber took out a note from his pocket and gave it to him. “She asked you to come here.”Delma checked the note. “This place…”It was a deserted island that Trisha wanted Delma to come to.“Is she planning on going all out?” Delma squinted her eyes. “Alright. If that’s what she wants, I’ll give it to her.”“Be careful, ma’am,” Weber said. “We don’t know what they might be plotting. If you want, I’ll accompany you.”Delma smiled because he was willing to come with her, despite being wounded. “No, you should take a rest. I’ll deal with her myself.”Meanwhile, in Blake’s mansion.Trisha was serving her brother

Later that night.Elmond and Delma just finished dinner and were walking in the front yard.“She asked you to come alone?” Elmond’s expression turned serious. “Don’t go.”“Obviously, she’s going to plan something, but I’m not afraid of losing to her, Grandpa,” Delma replied. “I feel stronger than before after losing fifty pounds.”“It’s good to have confidence, but that can easily twist things,” Elmond spoke from experience.“That’s why I’m talking about it with you,” Delma replied. “Despite what you imply, I’m going to fight her. In case things go south, you know what to do.”“Don’t talk like that. Nothing will happen to you,” Elmond was quick to reply. “I’m not going to die until your wedding happens, and I’m definitely not going to let anyone harm you.”Just then, a few butterflies flew out of tree crevices and came over to Elmond and landed on his shoulders and head.Delma was pleasantly surprised “Did they hear your voice and come out?”“Hoho, I don’t have any nectar with me righ

The next morning.Jake was sitting on a bench in the garden watching Elmond feed the birds and the butterflies.Delma was talking with the wounded maids, telling them to rest for a few more days before coming to work.Only Weber was allowed to work as he was quite persistent.Delma then came to sit next to Jake. When she sat down, the wooden bench creaked a little.A few seconds of silence followed.Delma smiled and said, “It used to make a lot more noise before.”Jake smiled back. She tucked her hair behind her ear and looked at him, “I hope you get your hair back soon.”“Why?”“Well, obviously…”she paused for a moment and said, “your hair is beautiful. It looks like fresh ginger.”Jake’s eyebrows raised together. Nobody ever described his hair like that.“I mean, it looks lively and has many shades,” Delma explained. “I said it in a good way.”“...I hope it comes back soon, too,” Jake said. “I’m working on it.”She offered him dried peas.He softly rejected, saying he didn’t brush,

The next day.Tessa arrived at a park in a Rolls Royce. Jake and Davis also came at the same time in a black Hummer car.Tessa was shocked to see them. She came here because Delma told her to, but she never thought that it was all Jake’s plan.“Where’s Delma?” Tessa asked angrily. “If she’s not here, I’m going.”“If you spend this entire day dating my brother, then I will have Delma give your sisters’ systems away,” Jake said.Tessa’s expression froze for a second.“Would Delma give them back just because you asked?” Tessa snorted. “You’re overestimating yourself, Barber!”“I already talked with her, and she agreed,” Jake replied.Tessa’s jaw dropped. “She did? I don’t believe it.”“If it turns out to be a lie, then you can punish me however you want,” Jake said.“Why would I do that?” Tessa rolled her eyes. “My brother must be itching to destroy you anyway.”“You’re not wrong.”Tessa then thought about it and looked at Davis. “You really think you can impress me in a few hours? Later that evening.Davis and Jake returned to the Hamilton mansion in the black Hummer.“She didn’t say anything in the end,” Davis looked down. “I don’t think she’ll ever call me.”“Well, at least she didn’t leave abruptly, so I think it’s a good sign,” Jake opined.“I think she stayed till the end because of the deal you made, not because she was interested in me,” Davis opined.“Have some confidence in yourself, Davis,” Jake put his arm around his shoulder. “You are Davis Goodheart, the one whom our parents love the most. If you don’t have faith in yourself, then who will?”For some reason, Jake’s words made him feel better. “Stop teasing me, Bro.”“I ain’t teasing you as much as I’m teasing myself,” Jake chortled.Delma and Elmond were watching them from the balcony.“It doesn’t look like Davis succeeded even after giving the two systems back,” Delma uttered.“I’m not surprised,” Elmond casually said while eating pistachios. “The girls these days are as hypocritical as ever. At a remote island a few hundred miles away from Salem city.Delma arrived in a helicopter, driving it herself. She jumped out through the front glass and came dashing through the sky like a hawk descending from heaven. As the helicopter crashed and exploded in the background, Delma landed on the rocky ground where Trisha was sitting on a boulder and polishing her nails.Behind her, both Davis and Tessa were tied up together in metal chains. Both of them were badly wounded, and they weren’t conscious, either.“How could you do that to your own sister?” Delma’s jaw hardened.“What are you saying? She pointed her finger at her own sister for the sake of a toad,” Trisha indifferently said. “If I don’t discipline her well now, she will only get worse in time, don’t you think?”Delma didn’t say anything.Trisha clapped twice. Two of her bodyguards rushed over.“Take those two and go to the Blake mansion,” she told them, and they obliged. As the guards took Davis and Tessa away, Delma didn’

I never said I’d introduce you to my brother,” Tessa snorted. “Firstly, you should get a proper haircut. Then, you should look competitive.Do something that makes you stand out.”“Like what?”“I don’t know. Appear on the Forbes front page or something?”“W-What?” Davis’ jaw dropped.“If you can’t even do that much, you think you’re qualified to become a son-in-law of the Blake family?” Tessa snorted even loudly this time. “All our son-in-laws are from prestigious, billionaire families. I don’t want my husband to look cheap and dull before them. So, figure it out yourself.”“H-How can I appear on Forbes?” Davis looked utterly baffled. “I didn’t even appear on my school’s notice board before.”Tessa spared him a cold gla

Tessa took the kite that Davis had made for her, but she ended up losing in the kite competition with Delma. So, she scolded Davis, saying, “I lost because of your kite!”However, Elmond intervened and said, “You lost because your skill was lacking compared to Delma’s. I made the kite for Delma, so I know that the difference was less in the kites and more in the ones flying those kites.”“Grandpa, you are kidding, right?” Tessa snorted.“Yes, sir. The fault was with me,” Davis supported her.Elmond sighed and shook his head. “Women these days go for the swan walk and end up losing the crow-walk they’re born with. Men also lose their masculinity by sucking up to women. It is so shameful to watch.” Saying that he walked away.“Don’t mind his words,” Delma told them. “He’s just a bit frustrated because he lost in a fight with Jake last evening.”“Fight? What fight?” Davis quickly asked.“They were trying to see who can eat more sweet buns,” Delma replied, “and my grandfather lost.”“Oh…”

Tessa arrived at the Hamilton mansion that morning.Instead of stopping the car in the front yard, she went round the mansion so that she could enter through the back door. However, she saw Jake practicing under the tree, and she could hear his fists moving through the air.“Whoa…” she kept watching him and forgot about time. “It’s like I’m watching my brother fist-fight the fire when he is young.”But soon, she noticed that he was making the falling leaves fly away in different directions in different waveforms.“Wow… how’s he doing that?”She got out of the car and walked straight up to Jake, with her hands in her loose pockets.“Mr. Jake, you sure are putting on a show,” Tessa grinned. “But I don't see Delma watching. What a waste.”Jake was startled by her entrance. He was too focused that he didn’t notice her coming. “You were saying something?”“I said, you shouldn’t practice so hard when Delma isn’t watching,” Tessa smirked. “Do it before her so that she’d be impressed.”“I-I w

Later that night.A phone rang.Davis woke up and saw that it was an unknown number. He answered it.But silence followed.“Hello?” Davis asked. “Who is this?”“I was expecting you to cut the call, but you’re rather patient,” a sweet female voice said from the other side.Davis’ eyes widened as he recognized that voice. “M-Miss Tessa?”It was twelve o’clock at night, so why did she call him at this hour? His heart started pounding regardless if it was to scold him or some other negative reason.“Why did you call me?” Davis cluelessly asked.“I was eating muffins, and I thought it would have been nice if we had muffins at the park,” Tessa replied.“Oh…” Davis didn’t know what to say. Did she really call him to tell just that? “I didn’t know that you liked muffins.”“I used to eat them when I was young,” Tessa replied. “I like the raisins they put in these muffins. They add nice texture to the bread.”“Then… I’ll buy muffins next time we spend time at the park?” Davis hesitantly stated.

You also tried to fight me for the factory. You’re brave, too. I can see why Delma is interested in you.”A few seconds passed.Melvyn released fog through his palm. It turned into a skull-faced fog and flew through the air at incredible speed.Within seconds, it arrived at the Hamilton mansion.Jake, who was in the backyard, looked up at the sky as a massive skull-faced fog came down, seemingly to devour him.Clenching his fist, he threw a punch at it.The fog got dispersed and then it condensed once more behind him, into a much smaller skull-faced fog.“I was doubtful, but now I’m sure tha
