• 50/50 Chance

The slow beeping of the life support machine filled the air. Trevor stood there in the room, looming over Cyrus's unconscious body. The door clicked open and Darren walked in with more supplies.

“When did you say he's going to wake up?” Trevor asked.

“The moment the anesthesia wears off, probably in an hour or so.”

The room fell into silence again. Darren made sure that he checked the drip and then he took his needle and was about to inject something into the drip bag.

“What the heck do you think you're doing?” Trevor questioned him aggressively, making him freeze.

A confused look spread across the doctor's face. “Um… it's going to help him wake up faster.”

After injecting the drugs into Cyrus's drip bag, he began to pack the other supplies.

“So you're saying Cyrus will be able to walk after all this?”

Darren paused. “It's a 50/50 chance. And it's not going to be immediate.”
