• Off To See A Friend

Clifford and Therese were having dinner, their plates clinking as they ate. Renée sauntered into the house, catching her mother's attention.

“Renée, you’re back already?” Therese asked with furrowed brows while Clifford slowed down his eating.

She paused and swept her gears between the two of them. “Uh- yeah.”

“Where's you sister?” Her mother followed up.

She sucked in a deep breath. “She's going to come back tomorrow, I think.”

“You think? Weren't you two supposed to return together?”

It was as if she could no longer find her voice. She didn't know what to tell them, or how to even say it. How could she tell her parents that the reason her sister was angry with her was because she had enlisted a machinery to take her out.

Then she was acting completely out of impulse and her love for Ethan was blinding her, but she knew better now.
