Ethan stood on the boat, placing his cupped hands against his forehead to block the extra light that was hitting his eyes. He looked ahead, he still had quite the distance to cover despite being close.

With a frustrated sigh, he tried to start the engines of the speed boat once again, pulling on the rope. This time the engine didn't even sputter or respond, he knew he had to make his way out of this situation by thinking quickly.

He rummaged through some things on the floor and that was when he noticed the paddle. Feeling slightly relieved, he grabbed it and dipped it into the water, propelling the boat forward.

His muscles twitched as he began to use them to row the ball, the sound of water splattering with each stroke.

Slowly he began to get closer to the islands in the distance. By now the dreadland army should have been here already or at least close enough.
