Ethan had insisted that Valerie stay back at home while he visited the community alone, but she was too paranoid to let him go alone; she wanted to be by his side.

“If you're worried that something is going to happen again, the rest are sure that I've increased security so you have nothing to worry about. Plus even if something did happen, I'd rather you were far away from the vicinity.”

“I know nothing is going to happen because of stricter security measures which you took, I just want to be there with you, by your side. Besides, I don't really have anything to do at home.”

Ethan realized that he could no longer argue with her so he just decided to let it go. “Fine, you can come,” he said.
