Valerie's eyes were frantically darting from corner to corner and the moment she saw an opening, she took it. Swerving away from him in an instant.

“I- uh… I want to get ready for the event later if you don't mind,” she said softly, trying to pacify him. She knew what he wanted at this point and she wasn't willing to give that to him, in all honesty she would rather die than allow this man to sleep with her.

Sensing her refusal, he clenched his jaw in anger, his mood changing instantly. His nostrils flared when he exhaled sharply. “Get ready, the driver will be here at 6:00 p.m. sharp, you better not delay us,” he warned and then left the room, banging the door shut behind him.

When he was gone, she let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding, sighing in relief. The longer she stayed here captive, the more she put herself in danger.
