Chapter 9 : Revelation - The power from within

They were stepping into the element Class for the first time, they couldn't helped but marvel at the beauty and originality it had, it was basically the outdoor inside a room, the room was as large as a stadium, with mountains and other terrains present in it,

There was a lake, a snowy mountain, a lava fall amongst other things, the students were so caught up in admiring the landscape that they didn't notice Miss Emma standing in front of them,

She cleared her throat to get their attention,

"Good day students, am sure you are all excited about having to train here but, you won't be exploring the landscape just yet, you will first have to at least be able to externally manifest your ability" She explained,

This caused the students to groan in displeasure,

"Alright, first you must learn to control your spiritual energy, feel it and move it around your body, now everyone sit in a loctus position" Miss Emma continued,

"Good, now I want you all to close your eyes and try to feel the flow of energy in your body and in the air around you, if should feel like a stream of cool soothing water flowing underneath your skin, try to take control of that stream, don't force it, let it submit itself to you" She added,

The students all did as she said, they sat on the floor with their legs crossed, Miss Emma could sense when they were doing it right, and the ones that weren't, she would correct.

"Excellent work class, you are making steady progress, now try channeling that energy towards your hand, if possible let it flow out, remember don't force it" She explained,

The first one to get it was Alec, a ball of flame could be seen floating over his palm,

Some other students including Bruce, Isabella and the rest were eventually able to do it as well, Bruce turned to Brandon, he thought Brandon would have gotten it before him but he seemed to still be in the process of controlling it,

"Bran-" Bruce tried to say but was obtructed by a hand covering his mouth, it was Isabella,

"Don't distract him, if you do, it's back to base one for him" Isabella whispered,

Meanwhile Brandon was completely oblivious of what was happening around him, he opened his eyes to find himself floating in a dark space, he could see a ball of light floating towards him,

"What's this? miss Silver never mentioned anything about this nor did miss Emma" Brandon wondered,

"Hello Child" a voice said, it was coming from the ball of light,

"Wow, who are you?" Brandon asked,

"I am nothing more than a pre-recorded message embedded in your subconscious to tell you of your history should anything happens to your parents and the rest of your father's kind" the voice replied,

"Message? Parents? father's kind? I don't understand" Brandon stuttered,

The voice replied "Don't worry child, be patient, I shall explain it all, just pay attention,

Many years ago, after the discovery of abilities and new technology, as you know the humans went on expeditions to other planets in their new solar systems, one of the planets they landed on, planet Decallion now known as planet Tigeria was home to a myraid of creatures and what they had in common was the ability to take on human forms, there were vampires, werewolves, banshees, witches, demons, even dragons and phoenixes, when they were seen, the inhabitants brought the expedition team before their rulers, the planet was ruled by a council which comprised of one or two representatives a king and a queen from each race present on the planet.

Now the demon race was one the most populous races, they existed in many other planets apart form Tigeria, they were the first to notice the Earth's arrival and went behind the backs of the other races and sent spies to earth and only brought it up before the others after they had made sure their spies were well placed, the council came together to discuss what to be done about the mysterious new planet in their solar system,

At the time no one knew the demons were hatching a plan to overthrow the council and rule the other races, they suggested that the planet be left untouched for the time being so that they could get used to their new universe before getting alien visitors"

"Sorry to interrupt but, how come the demons were the first to know of Earth's arrival?" Brandon asked,

"Remember I mentioned that the demons plan to overthrow the council?" The voice asked,

"Yes" Brandon hastily replied,

"They had been making plans far longer than anyone knew, they had spies and agents on every planet in this solar system and the others, the planet next to earth is infact majorly inhabited by demons" the voice explained,

"Oh, now I get, the spies spotted us first" Brandon said in understanding,

"Yes, now as I was saying, the council didn't readily consider the demon's option knowing how sinister they can be, they decided to put it to a vote with the majority going against the motion, after which it was agreed that they would sent envoys to earth to gather information about the humans which the expedition team agreed to on the condition that they also be allowed to send envoys to learn about the foreign races as well, they set up base not too far from the city" the voice explained,

"So Leonard Verso?" Brandon asked,

"Yes, he was one of the envoys sent, he was a hybrid, part vampire, part dragon, he wasn't meant to teach the earth about abilities and armor but he and some of the other envoys discovered the demon's betrayal but at that time it was already too late, the demons had already planned numerous attacks on humans making it look look like it was a planned attack by the foreign races and that was how the war started" the voice narrated,

"Wait, first question, couldn't they have just had a dialogue? And second question, what about the base in Tigeria?" Brandon asked confused,

"They tried but the demons killed numerous people and not just ordinary civilians but key members of government all over the world, this caused the rest to act on panic, fear and anger, as for the 2nd question, they were also attacked but some of them managed to escape" the voice replied,

"Okay, but what does this have to do with me?" Brandon asked,

"After, the war started the demons hatched a full on war on the leaders of the other races, some races willingly joined the demons while the rest were completely caught off guard and were unable to fight back but others like the phoenix, dragons, werewolves, vampires just to list a few managed to flee the planet but were scattered across the universe some went to earth to help the humans fight the war behind the scenes, even now some are still helping, your father was one of them, he was a crimson Phoenix, the rarest type of Phoenix there was,

He met your mother many years later when he helped save a town from being overrun by gargoyles and demons, she noticed how quickly he healed from his Injuries during the fight but kept mute for fear that the others might panic and kill him, so she spoke with him in secret, your father was supprised at first, he had assumed all humans hated the foreign races, but your mother did not habour any ill feelings towards him, she even kept his secret, your father stayed in the town from that day,

They began spending time together and naturally, feelings developed and they got married, but at the time your mom was pregnant, the town came under attack, this attack was unlike any before, news that a foreign race was helping to defend the town had already reached the ears of the demon king, he sent a large army of demons, gargoyles, vampires, gorgons and a single dragon,

Your father knew the town was no longer safe, so he created this message and placed in your mom's womb that it may embed itself in your subconscious. He made sure to evacuate as much if the town as he could before the arrival of the demon's army,

The humans had also despatched an army to fight but it was no match for what the foreign races brought, your mother watched from afar with tears rolling down her face as your father took his true form and fought alongside the humans, giving them enough time to escape" the voice explained,

"Why doesn't anyone know about this?" Brandon asked, tears trickling down his face,

"That's because no one survived that battle, not even your father" the voice said lowly,

"What about my mum?" Brandon asked,

"It had been discovered that she hid a member of the foreign race, so immediately she gave birth to you, she dropped you at the nearest orphanage she could find and she went into hiding, I don't know if she is still alive or not I could only record what happened during the time you were together, am sorry" The voice replied,

"So what now?" Brandon sobbed,

"Your father also made a detailed explanation of who you are and what you can do but it would take some time to explain so for now just make use of your fire ability" the voice said as it faded,

The moment it disappeared Brandon's eyes opened to find Isabella and a very relieved looking Bruce staring at him, in his hand was a ball of Scarlett red fire, he waved it around his hand, increased and decreased it's size,

"Looks like we have a prodigy" Miss Emma cheered as she noticed Brandon controlling his flame,

"Alright class that will be all for today, it will soon be time for lunch, I suggest you eat well and get some rest after school, good day" Miss Emma added before dismissing them,

As Alec and the rest were walking out, Angelo noticed Brandon was walking a bit behind as if lost in thoughts,

"Bruce, did something happen to Brandon?" Angelo asked,

Bruce felt a bit embarrassed, he hadn't noticed Brandon's change in demeanor because he was engaged in a conversation with Isabella,

"Brandon, is everything okay?" Bruce called quietly snapping Brandon out from his thoughts,

"Oh, sorry, am fine" Brandon replied putting on a smile,

Okay, if you say so" Bruce scoffed, he knew Brandon was lying,

"He probably doesn't want to talk about in front of the others" Bruce said to himself,

"Come on guys we are going to be late for lunch if you keep walking that slow" Alec said, he was already way ahead of them,

"Only food makes you walked that fast" Isabella teased and the others laughed,

"Suit yourself, don't blame me if I don't save you guys a seat" Alec said before walking off,

"We will meet you guys there, we need to head to the register" Bruce said before breaking off from the group with Brandon,

"Alright, spit it out" Bruce said as they were far enough from the rest not to be heard,

"I found out, who I am and what happened to my parents" Brandon whispered,

Bruce's expression became more serious after hearing this, he pulled Brandon to walk faster, they got to the register and locked the door behind them, They also shut the blinders to make sure no one was looking in,

Angelo who had been secretly tailing them let out a sigh,

"Looks like I can't get any closer without being spotted" he muttered to himself before turning back to the cafeteria.

Meanwhile, inside the register, Bruce had just shut the last blinder,

"Were you guys planning to lock me outside?" A voice said startling them, it was Miss Silver,

"Oh sorry, Miss, we just wanted to make sure we weren't being followed" Bruce apologized,

"What's wrong with him?" Miss Silver pointed at Brandon who had just spaced out again,

"He just had a huge revelation about his past and his parents" Bruce stated,

"Hey, get a hold of yourself" Miss Silver said as she snapped her fingers to get Brandon's attention,

"Oh sorry, ma'am, it's alot to wrap my head around" Brandon apologized,

"What's alot to wrap your head around?" She asked,

"You will want to sit down for this" Brandon said,

"Okay, why don't we all sit" Miss Silver suggested,

They all found seats and Brandon narrated his encounter with the ball of light,

Bruce and Miss Silver listened attentively at Brandon's explanation, once he was done, the room was filled with silence, Brandon was expecting some sort of reaction from Miss Silver but there was none, she and Bruce seemed to be in deep thoughts.

"I see, so that's the real story behind what happened at that town" Miss Silver finally said,

"Was there another version of the story?" Brandon asked,

"Yes, quite a few infact, one was that a member of the foreign race infiltrated the town and called in an invasion, another version was that the town was attack and a single member of the foreign race helped defend the town" Miss Silver explained,

"So when the voice said no one survived" Brandon stated,

"It meant no one that stayed to fight survived" Miss Silver completed his statement.
