I Can Hear Thoughts Now? What The Heck Is Going On?

Lana

I woke up to the sound of two voices arguing.

"It can't be her Ra, she looks different." She whispered-yelled. I blinked my groggy eyes and focused on the two figures in the room. The woman looked agitated and Ra looked tensed with his jaw clenched tight.

"You are mistaken Ra, you just miss Bastet." The name resonated in my head, it sounded familiar. Who is Bastet? I cocked my head to the side. The still unknown woman looked up as she registered my movement.

"You are awake." Yeah evidently I was awake.

"Are you feeling okay?" I didn't reply but stared at them.

Why isn't she saying anything?

Are you sure she is okay? Must have hit her head harder than I thought.

If she did it's all my fault, I shouldn't have frightened her.

I continued looking at them, throughout the conversation they just had, they didn't even move their lips. How on earth is that possible? Something weird and fishy is going on. It was like they were communicating through their minds.

"Are you going to kill me?" I asked in an indifferent tone as I stretched. I had learned early on, not to be show fear in this kind of situation.

"Whoa, no one is killing anyone or dying here. My name is Menthu."

"Let me guess, you're a goddess too." I arched my brows.

"Yes I am a counterpart of Ra, a sun goddess."

"You mean like his sidekick." Menthu frowned as she took offence at what I said.

"I am surprised that you are taking this impressively well." She said in an indifferent tone.

Are you sure that she is not a spy from another god.

I don't think so, she was scared shitless when she first saw me in my god form.

You know she could be pretending. I frowned, seems like Little sidekick doesn't like me.

I don't think so, I feel like she is Bastet.

"You know I am sitting down here and it's rude to talk about someone as if the person is not there."

"How is this possible?" Menthu looked puzzled. Yeah, I was even questioning my myself.

"Who is Bastet?" I was drawn to that name but I don't know why. But I had a feeling that name held a lots of secrets.

"Someone you don't need to know." Menthu quipped.

Can you hear my thoughts human?

"Yes, Yellow fog." I replied sarcastically.

I told you that it might be her.

That's is not possible, I saw her disappear. She has been gone for a century, it just can't be. Menthu shook her head.

Wait, are they comparing me to ..... Bastet. And I knew this Bastet must be one of them, and it seems like she is missing? I just don't understand what's going on. Menthu turned to leave.

"Menthu, just make sure that nobody knows about this till it is resolved."

"I don't know Ra. If you are found out, you are on your own." I scoffed lightly, Little sidekick was a coward.

"Thank you, Menthu I will not drag you into the issue."

Unknown Pov

In an unknown location

In a room that looks like a place of worship, like an altar. It was dedicated to a long forgotten god. A young beautiful woman with white long hair who was lying in a pool of luminescent water. She was immersed in the water. She was surrounded by a group of twelve people who were humming and murmuring strange words that sounded archaic.

With a gasp, the white haired woman broke her head through the water.

"Hmmn, the protector of all, the guard against evil, the mighty one that fears no one, she has arrived in the land of the gods, but have not awaken." Chanting from the different angles accompanied the words of the speaker.

"She will bring to light, one of the most deadly plots that ever existed." The chanting ensued again followed by deep humming.

"There will be a great tousling between the higher entities." The woman shook hand as if she was been electrocuted.

"Brothers and Sisters, let's join hands to assist her, because this will be one of the most difficult journey of her various lifetimes."

With that, she fell back into the pool of water exhausted by her visions.
