Edward Grandeur POV “What is the meaning of this!?”“This is my life’s work! Careful with that you riffraff!” It was the morning of the next day, all sunshine and rainbows. But such wasn't the case for Edward Grandeur as Jeremy Clayton on his father’s orders sent thugs to throw him out of his office building and if he resisted, beat the shit out of him and destroy the building.“Hey! Hey! Give me that!” He yelled after one of the thugs as he tried to collect a priceless piece which he started his tailoring with from him.The thug pushed him with his hand and he fell thundering to the floor. The thugs had arrived in the early hours of the morning and intimidated all his staff until they cowered and ran away for fear of their lives. He had been warned not to step foot in the building until he paid the loan he owed Clayton Financials, but because Aidan was going to handle it all, he refuted the threat's emails and still ordered his staff to work only for these criminals to arrive in th
Aidan's POV“Your property?!” Aidan laughed and questioned as he saw it was none other person than Frederick Clayton himself, coming in with the police to arrest him.Aidan pushed the barely conscious thug boss who was extremely lucky as the knife’s wound didn't seem fatal away from him. He slumped to the floor with a thud.He brushed himself and adjusted his cuff links as Frederick stormed toward him.“Yes, boy! My property!” He spat on Aidan’s face as he was now close to him.Aidan's lips curved into a sly grin as he took his index finger and used that to push Frederick back from him. After that, he crept close to his ears, breathing heavily, and hot on his neck. “Call me boy one more time…” He brought his head and soulless eyes back to Frederick. “And you’ll rue that you ever stepped foot in here.” Aidan locked eyes with him, not giving care to his menaces and coercion. Aidan’s gray eyes were red and soulless–like an endless pit of wrath, ready to be unleashed on whoever stepped
A couple of days had passed since Frederick got walked all over by Aidan. Aidan and his attorney were on the drive down to the downtown parts of the City to meet with the lady who tried suing Madam Doris but failed. It was a breezy afternoon, as Cole pulled the car into the ghetto neighborhood of Emergande City. Seeing this part of the City brought painful memories to Aidan. For one time he was thrown out by his landlord because he couldn't meet the rent which further prompted him to end up living with Jake who made his life a living hell. He grunted and shook his head recollecting those hurtful memories. He saw a kid run into the street and Cole quickly pulled the brakes to avoid hitting him. Since it didn't occur, Mr. Raymond decided to ask the little boy for directions as he wasn't quite sure of the lady’s house address.“Yeah, I know that place… But you're gonna have to pay for it, you know…” Mr. Raymond, who had stepped down from the car to speak to the little boy, sough in wea
“If you love your car, then I advise you to protect it. '' She flapped her eyelashes like a butterfly, wagging her finger at Aidan. Aidan signaled to Cole to stay back with the car as they followed Ms. Rosaline into the next room which turned out to be the entire house space. It housed the kitchen, the bedroom, and a little space where she placed the TV stand, with a broken-down TV on top of it. At the corner of it stood a radio set that was playing some low-tune oldies. The room smelled of tomato soup which was cooking right on the stove. Ms. Rosaline walked over to take it off and for the first time, Aidan noticed she had a limp on her left leg. His curiosity dazed him.“Your limp, what happened…?” He hung back as he scrunched his brows slightly, pondering on whether it was in his place to ask her or not, so he wouldn't cross boundaries.“I'm sorry if I'm intruding on your personal…” “Madam Doris happened” She turned the stove off and grabbed a kitchen towel to bring it down. Sh
“Why are the paparazzi here Mr. Raymond!” He demanded, this time around more irritated. His attorney was puzzled and more disorganized by the whole scenario. The paparazzi hit their microphones, phones, and other gadgets they held on the glass window, struggling hard to see who was inside the luxury car as the windows were heavily tinted, muffling the shouts they were making.“Sir, you can't come down here…” “No shit Sherlock! You think!” Aidan retorted. He tapped Cole and ordered him to find a spot where they could get into the private parking lot–at least, no one would be there as it's reserved.Cole obeyed and tried to maneuver his way but the media circulated their car and wouldn't give him breathing space to leave. They demanded that he come down and answer their questions.Right at that moment, Mr. Milton pulled into the crowd with some company security that pushed all of them back to give way for him to pass through. It was a scrabble between the paparazzi and the security an
“Yes Frederick, answer the question. Why I'm I suddenly a topic of concern to you or is it because I'm winning the high stakes of the City and your little tactics aren't working” The crowd composed of the media gasped in astonishment. He just called the sovereign of the City by his first name, what a load of disrespect. This was unheard of as everyone but Aidan feared the Claytons. Jeremy stepsided his father and stood right in front of Aidan, his pulse vibrating.“Take that back!” He demanded.“Or what?!” Aidan answered back, adorning a sly smirk across his face. He was fiercely looking at Jeremy, waiting for his next retort or witty reply but for whatever reason, he backed down which Aidan later saw it was because his father tugged at him to back down.“Still waiting for the answer Sir,” The media lady demanded for the third time. Frederick shot her a cold and icy glare from the corner of his eyes, ready to unleash hell on her but a part of his almost indiscernible facial expressi
A whole week passed since the time Frederick had allegedly planted fake evidence in the office of the FCIU and tipped off the media, only to get the heat on himself. The video of him and his son falling down the stairs had been the talk of the entire town–Aidan made sure he couldn't take the videos down. They tried, but his tech guy wasn't just tech-smart for no reason, anytime the videos were scrubbed by Frederick, his tech guy would upload another angle making it an exhilarating week for them.Their stock market took a hit too, as their overseas business partners backed out–they wanted to expand their shady loan business further into the overseas market. But this thrashing deemed them unfit to handle the overseas market if he couldn't control his son; Jeremy or take down a viral video of his disgrace. It was a rollercoaster week for them and Aidan took pleasure in it as he was the reason behind it all.Aidan was with his estate agent/developer–Micheal Sullivan, in the estate develo
“Yes Sir,” He bowed and Aidan walked past them, without really paying much attention to the worker who was about to piss himself.A couple of minutes later, his Maybach pulled up at the executive parking space. No one was waiting for him as his imaging director and secretary were holding the culprit they had caught down.He didn't ask for further details of who he was or how they caught him but he needed to handle this personally. The elevator chimed and opened up on the fourth floor housing the conference room. He put aside his phone in his pocket as he just received a message from his attorney that Ms. Rosaline had given all the evidence she had on Madam Doris. His lips curved into a sly grin and then he stepped out of the elevator with Cole trailing behind him. The security stood right at the conference room entrance guarding the door.He got in and the first thing his sight took hold of was a bloodied young man, with a cut on the side of his head around the temples, causing blood t
