Chapter Fifty-Two

“Bang!”

The sound of his palm meeting with the table reverberated, slicing through the dead silence of the restaurant. It terrified Mr. Raymond greatly to the extent that he jerked back and the pen he held in his hand fell rapidly to the floor.

One look into his boss’s eyes, and they were dead and soulless like no ounce of emotion could be traced in them.

“It was Charles… Your father had kept a close eye on him since you left Aelbank City.” He bent and picked up the pen that had fallen to the floor.

“It turned out, he knew Frederick Clayton” He wagged his hand in the air. “How he squirmed his way into your father's empire, I still have no idea…” He paused and sucked his lips. “Your father would be in the perfect position to answer your question for you.”

Aidan sighed and raked his hand through his hair.

“Why would he go to such lengths to place himself inside of Ackerman Inc. space?” He was baffled, some things certainly weren’t adding up.
